I give them a solid 3 stars, they service many locals for their decent price, decent wait time, and good size plate lunches. Management changed a couple years ago, so menu and restaurant has made some changes.
Their combo plates are always popular and their daily specials can sell quickly.
Weeks ago, I got the mini curry katsu with Asian coleslaw. (My go-to order) Katsu is always served over a bed of noodles. The Asian coleslaw is always my go-to over mac salad or toss salad for the sides. In my recent trip, i tried their bento, same combo as the zippies surf pack with some chicken added for about the same price. Its not bad. However, I don’t recommend their tartar sauce. I think its been sitting out for awhile, and i may have gotten food poisoning from it.
Service and atmosphere is the same. It’s chill, slow moving, relax environment… Orders can take while unfortunately no website, but you can try and call them.
They have ample parking and a decent seating area. Just got to deal with the warm interior and slightly uncomfortable ’90 style booth seats.
The mini chicken katsu was smaller than expected for the price. Portions from L&L are definitely bigger. Unfortunately, chicken katsu from L&L also tastes better. The chicken was crispy, but the taste of the batter very much reminded me of frozen fish sticks. I liked the mac salad, it reminded me of the mac salad from Kabuki. The chow fun under the chicken katsu was a nice surprise, but it was dry and not that flavorful. I would have rather had more frozen fish stick chicken katsu instead.
It was also pretty expensive for a mini plate. The new management needs to step their game up.
I paid $60 for a plate of noodles, no flavor. Hamburger deluxe with 2 fries, 2 slurpee, and a shrimp burger, which there was more batter than anything. I am all over the place in explaining because I am really upset due that I was hungry and everything was horrible.
I RECOMMEND THAT NO ONE EATS HERE!
This place doesn’t taste or look the same as back in the days.
Saturday evening. I didn’t take any menu pics, because I wasn’t there long enough. I called and ordered a chicken katsu plate. I called to place my order, because I ordered pigs feet soup from another restaurant right before I called Grace’s Inn. I asked how long, so I could make my way over. The woman on the phone said three minutes. I said to myself, wow that’s fast. It took me about 5 minutes to get to location. I walked into restaurant and there were two people in front of me. I got the good ol local plate lunch feel like you get at some of the other older traditional plate lunch restaurants in town. In about a minute I told wo.an I had a pick up. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. She rung me up and I was out of there, and on my way to pick up my dad’s pigs feet soup order. Food was plentiful and tasty, just like I expected.
Go try it.
