My wife and I stopped in for lunch during a day trip to see the painted churches in Schulenburg, and we were really impressed. The food was fantastic — the Reuben sandwich and tomato basil soup were excellent, and every other dish we tried was just as good. The bread pudding was especially delicious. Parking was easy to access and plentiful. If you’re in the area and looking for a reliably good meal, we highly recommend this place.

Cute little place we found while passing through! Service was great and ambiance was nice. The fruit and Brie chutney was delicious! I had the fried chicken salad. Chicken was a tiny bit dry but the salad itself was really yummy! My husband had the chicken sandwich which was great. Dessert also looked tasty but we didn’t have any room. I would definitely recommend if you are passing through or live near here!

We decided to do a pilgrimage to see the painted churches in the area. Lunch stop was here and such a nice gem. The staff was accommodating since we had a fairly large group (15). Various orders off the menu. I can comment on ours and while when we first thought this would be very posh, we quickly found out that this was delightful. We ordered the Brussels sprouts that was a meal in itself. I ordered the fried chicken salad and it surprised me and what a great salad I had. Other items were the blackberry salad, and chicken salad sandwich. All so good. Well we polished this off with no room for dessert. Next time, dessert! Good food value. Will be back. Regarding service, seeing reviews offering different views i could see the possibility but we had great service.

Well I called to order a To-go order on my way through. Was told they no longer carry the menu item off their Google maps search. I was told to go to Facebook. A person traveling is not usually going to go to or find you on Facebook so maybe a good idea to update the menu on Google. I decided to stop anyway and see if there was something else I could order because of the high google rating. I really didn’t want fast food. I went with the wagyu burger since I would be eating on the road. As soon as they said it was ready, I paid and walked out the door. Opened the container immediately to get ready to roll on to SA. The meat somehow was already cold and the (3) potato wedges were luke warm at best. With a 4.7 I have to assume there are better menu items. For $16 to get (3) potato wedges was quite a surprise. Can’t really say there was a great taste being wagyu beef. Was pretty disappointed. Here is the pic of the menu.

We ordered the famous Brussel sprouts and they were a little burnt but overall very nice, although the olive were unbearably salty.
We were not into the mushroom Asiago pizza cause the cheese was way too strong, the crust was nice, crispy and chewy. But the topping combination was not to our liking as the cheese smell was a little too strong and the mushrooms didn’t have a lot of flavor.
The grilled chicken salad with black berry dressing would’ve been perfect if it hadn’t been swimming in the dressing, we found the taste a little too sweet. If the dressing was served on the side it would have helped this dish a lot, otherwise the combination of ingredients was beautiful and the goat cheese was amazing.
The atmosphere was really classy and with rustic vibes. The decoration was great and the servers were very nice and pleasant, the were also very helpful and they offered to go boxes to carry out our left overs (as the portions were very big, which is a plus).
Overall we would come back but we would not order the same dishes we ordered this time:)

Really enjoyed the stopover on our drive from Houston to Austin- food was great, service attentive and the ambience was relaxed and fun.
We basically ordered every single starter and they were very good. Especially the Brussels sprouts. The lamb burger was outstanding as the feta lands a lovely twist to the eat feel – felt almost like a Mediterranean kebab in the burger!
The pecan bread pudding was lovely though the cheese cake was not spectacular
That said – the prices were more like Boston or NY than schulenburg!!!

Recently moved to the area from Katy and decided to try this beautiful place. It was *chefs kiss* Absolutely loved the atmosphere and the food was incredible. The bacon wrapped chicken bites with that glaze…WOW!!! The sweet potatoes on my husbands plate didn’t last long because I personally devoured them. Never had such incredible sweet potatoes and now I must figure out how to recreate such delectable flavor. Even the guests surrounding us could tell I was in heaven. Definitely coming back! I’ve been needing a place just like this for date nights or family lunch. My husband said he was too full for dessert but somehow that bread pudding sucked us both in and it did not disappoint. Pretty sure we will become regulars here! The staff was so sweet. 100/10 recommend
