Went for Lenten Friday. The place was packed, but also it looked like a lot of people come to watch sports. The fish fry was alright – it was frozen fish. But came out piping hot and super crispy. They have daily drink specials. It’s not obnoxiously loud, so that’s cool. Cute little corner bar on Division. They have 2 specials for Lenten Friday.

I’ve been to Mac’s Wood Grilled numerous times and finally decided to leave a review because they truly deserve the recognition.

I stopped in on Easter Sunday, and the vibe as always was relaxed and welcoming. It was a bit quieter than usual, which made for incredibly fast service. Typically, this place is packed and full of energy, your classic neighborhood bar feel.

Before I arrived, I’ll admit, I had the munchies—so I came ready to eat. I ordered the 6 Wood Grilled Jerk Wings and the Chimichurri Steak, and both were top-notch.

The Jerk Wings were flavorful and spicy—definitely had a kick! A bit on the salty side, but still delicious. I do think the menu should mention how spicy they are, since some people might not be expecting that level of heat.

The Chimichurri Steak, though? Absolute perfection. Tender, juicy, and seasoned beautifully. From the first bite, I knew it was something I’d crave again and I still am!

The staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere is consistently great. Mac’s is hands-down one of the best neighborhood bars I’ve visited in Chicago.

I really enjoyed myself here. It has affordable prices and great food. They have Coke products. The fountain pop is $3.00. I had their mozzarella sticks and they were delicious. They had a great breading on them. Next I had a salad with grilled chicken and house made ranch. It was a huge portion and delicious. They have outdoor seating. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. I was on my lunch break so I couldn’t drink, but they have a lot of beer on draft.

Grabbed food before a show. Very loud, scream at each other volume on a Saturday night. Delicious wood fired burger – great smoke flavor and delicious toppings. Fries were so hot and salty.

I have been wanting to try this place out for a while now, simply the building it is housed in has the pedigree of being the chicago brewery of Schlitz, and it does have interesting external look to it, and the interior is set up like a tavern with sport bar accents, mainly due to the number of television playing just about every sports game currently being played. The staff was friendly, though being a tavern type establishment it may or may not take a little while to get service, usually not a big deal I would say, though they may have slightly under staffed at the time I went. I usually go into locations like this as a walk in and get my food to go, I really don’t like ordering online, I tend to be more of spur the moment type of guy.

That being the case I entered, got the attention of one of the servers, as I sat down at the end of the bar that was open, and made my intentions clear of what I wanted. After a few minutes he got back to me and I ordered Daddy Mac’s burger, and just for good measure I added in an order of their Bacon Cheese Fries. I was told the wait would be about 20 minutes. I was totally fine with that, it gave me a bit of time to take in the atmosphere.

The actual wait time I would say was between 10-15 minutes, so a little under his estimate.

The Daddy Mac’s Burger, was good, enough for a dinner for two if you cut it in half. Though I did find the pickles’s garlic flavor a bit over powering though, and according to menu on their website it was supposed to have a sesame seed bun, mine just was potato bun. Neither of these took away from the experience.

The Bacon Cheese fries was excellent, the cheddar cheese sauce was of very good quality, and didn’t taste overly processed, which is always a welcome fact.

All in all a pleasant experience.

Solid neighborhood bar with typical pub faire, burgers, nachos, chili, and salads. They have a great beer selection too with lots of offerings from 3-floyds and warnings.

Good amount of seating with easily viewable TVs. There’s a stack of board games in the back and they regularly do things for holidays and various sporting events.

I was in Chicago for one night to help move my son to Dallas. He lived a modest walk from Mac’s, so we headed there for dinner. I ordered a burger (the name escapes me) that had a beef patty, bacon, pickles, lettuce and tomato, a grilled jalapeño and a habanero sauce. The waiter told me it was really hot. I replied with confidence that I was from San Antonio and was used to spicy food. So he asked how I would like the meat cooked and left to place our order. The burger was great, BUT it was also VERY hot. Wow! I was in fire! So be careful what you ask for, because at Mac’s you’ll get it! My son had a regular, less adventurous burger.

We enjoyed a cool evening outside with our food and a couple of brews. The wait staff was excellent.

Delicious pub food and fantastic personal service. We had a team of two, server and assistant who uniquely and cheerfully tended to us like family.

Popped in for a quick dinner with my daughter. It was nice and service was friendly. The booths were ripped, and the table sticky. Overall we had a fine meal.

Came here for some drinks and apps on a Friday night. The spinach artichoke dip was to die for!! The pita bread pairs with it perfectly and it was maybe the best spin dip I’ve had anywhere. The wood smoked wings were also excellent and the house buffalo sauce was well crafted! Great friendly service and drinks too. Really enjoyed this spot
