Stopped by here for the first time yesterday and enjoyed a tasty beef lemongrass vermicelli bowl and a side of hot and sour soup for lunch. The vermicelli bowl was quite large and had great flavor. The egg roll on top was the real star though, will definitely come back for an order of those. Restaurant itself is quite nice. It’s modern decor is simple but very nice, though I don’t know that they needed to mount tablets on every booth. I was the only one in here around 2:30pm and had good service. Love that they have happy hour over lunch too!

First visit
The bun bo hue was a 3.5 star, not being as flavorful as I’d like. I did notice another reviewer had mentioned that.
The combo vermicelli bowl was 4 stars for me. Good solid option.
The decor is nice and it’s a very comfortable place to eat.
Service was friendly.

I think it’s a cute place. However it is also quite a cold place. It’s clean and neat. I wish it was warmer there.
The food is not bad. My phone broth was good actually.

Bahn Mi was decent, but it had broccoli on it… What? For the price I’m glad it came out as two halves cut from a larger bread roll… At least the portion size was good.
The spring rolls were ok… They seemed fresh but the were clumsily made and contained small shrimp pieces. We could’ve made these at home…I expect a Vietnamese restaurant to be able to do them better than I can.
The clay pot curry had a different flavor than I was expecting but it was decent. I didn’t have any expectations because I’ve only really had Thai and Indian curry, but I probably wouldn’t get it again.
The phô. Oh the phô. Here is where Saigon Surface lost me. I have had phô all around the world from some amazing restaurants. Not special restaurants, just simple holes in the wall that do phô very well. This is really what we came for and it had a weird sour taste. It also contained potato wedges and huge carrot chunks that were mush. Once doctored up with hoisin and Sriracha it was passable but we had to remove the weird veggies that killed the dish.
We’re gonna tour other restaurants for a while. Can’t say we wouldn’t go back here just yet, depends on if we find a better Vietnamese place in Omaha.

New to the area, found this place by wandering. It has an upscale, modern, and welcoming exterior. I got there a few minutes before it opened but the staff still let me in and allowed me to look at the menu. Everything sounded delicious!
The food I ordered came out in a timely manner, everything was fresh and very tasty! I definitely would recommend coming here.

Besides pho, I’ve never had Vietnamese food before. I decided to try Saigon Surface, and boy am I glad I did. Vietnamese is easily in my top 5 favorite food types now.
Everything was expertly prepared and so FRESH. If you’re worried about portions, don’t be. I can usually pack away some vittles; I hadn’t eaten much today, and I left full after an entree and appetizer.
Loved this place! Will be back, and will tell everyone I know.

Finally… I had to see what the rave was about! Pho this…. Pho that. I must admit this place is really cute, nice atmosphere. I ordered the beef oxtail Pho added chicken and mushrooms. Spring rolls too. My guest ordered the same plus Hot and sour soup. The food was exceptionally fresh, huge portions. Very very tasty!!! I will be back 100%

Very good restaurant. Had good dining experience. I am vegetarian and had fried tofu with egg noodles and it was good. My friends and family had vegetarian tofu Curry in clay pot and it was good. Could have been better. There is lot of sweet in the Curry which is not from coconut milk. I didn’t think it was necessary to add sugar to make it sweeter and yet say it was from coconut milk. Portions are decent enough. Pricing is a little on the high end but ok as it is downtown. Ambience is also very decent. All in all it was ok kind of experience. I would go there again to try out few more dishes.

We had an amazing experience here. Sunday night, 6pm on Memorial Day weekend. No one was there when we got there, but the place quickly filled up. Our waitress was amazing and seemed to take care of everyone without missing a beat, even though she was the only wait staff on duty.
I had an amazing bowl of Angus beef stew with slices of baguette and enjoyed it so much I only had the empty bowl to take a picture of since I was famished and forgot earlier.
