My first time here and after work I wanted a soda somewhere and as I was looking for a menu by the front door, Romy came out and invited me in. That’s the hardest part of the restaurant business Once inside, I like butter chicken, so I asked for a to go order. I can’t do hot spice or mild. Romy said he would make me a sample with very little mild spice. He brought it out of the kitchen, I took one bite and it was so amazing. Within minutes, my order was ready. Then I saw two of my friends who were in their car, they love this place and the three of us went and dined in.

A welcome addition to downtown Elkton, bringing some international flavor to Main Street… We scoped ‘It’s Masala Time’ out during one of our last visits to the Elkton Music Hall (don’t miss that either). The menu is traditional Indian, but at an American level of spice. I am sure if you wanted your dish extra spicy they would be happy to accommodate you. We had Pooni Puri (fun), Chicken Tikka Masala (an old stand by), Chicken Dhaba Style (ginger, garlic, tomatoes, chilies – YUM), and Laccha Parantha bread. All of the food was prepared well, served hot, in appropriate portions, and tasted superb. The dining room is modern with fun enlarged photos on the walls, and Bollywood movies playing on TV screens. Fun times.

It was a bit strange to see the Showcase on Main turned into an Indian restaurant. But, as odd as that was, I couldn’t be happier with the new spot. Service was fast and friendly. The Chicken Korma and paratha were probably the best I’ve ever had, anywhere (and that includes India!). The mango lassi and garlic naan were also excellent. I’m not from around here, just visiting local friends, but I’ll make sure we return to It’s Masala Time whenever I’m back for my next visit!
(The food looked/smelled so good I forgot to take pics before digging in)

The food from It’s Masala Time was absolutely delicious! The butter chicken was rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced, and the garlic naan was soft, warm, and full of flavor. I also ordered a side of lassi drink which was refreshing. The service was outstanding as well; the staff were attentive and made sure everything came out just right. Overall, a fantastic dining experience and will definitely be coming back!

Great food! I had pomfret after such a long time. It was delicious! Also tried their goat biryani and gajar halwa. Both were good. Mr. Prateek, the chef himself, came and asked about any special requests. He’s a hard working and sincere person, with great cooking skills for sure. Highly recommended for any Indian food cravings. Will definitely come back to try other dishes!!

It’s Masala Time did not disappoint! We ordered the chicken tikka masala and chicken tikka. Both were excellent. The tikka masala had a rich, creamy sauce with just the right amount of spice. I’m a baby so went with mild. The tikka chicken was cooked in a clay oven. Both meals are made with boneless all white meat. Portions were generous. Great food and service. We’ll definitely be back!

I ordered chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and raita off of their website. It quoted me that it would take 25 mins but it actually took about 10 which was great. I ordered the chicken tikka spicy and it’s definitely spicy but in the best way possible. The garlic naan was very yummy and we’ll definitely be adding It’s Masala Time into our rotation. The restaurant also looked very clean and well taken care of!
