One of my favorite places for BBQ in SC! I drive 1.5 hours from Hilton Head and it is well worth the drive. The staff are all very kind and treat you like family. Their mustard bbq sauce is out of this world! Hash and rice are some of the tastiest I’ve tried as well. Feels like going to my families home for a finely cooked meal.

Friends, this is the Holy Grail, what road food warriors search for- a place hidden in the fields, deep in the woods, patronized by locals and run by a few warm and friendly ladies who put their heart and soul into homecooking that is no different than what you’d get if you ate in their kitchen. Great homestyle, country cooking and plenty of it, only place I know to go get rutabagas. The greens are fantastic and old-Timey, salted fatback right on the buffet to eat with the greens and other vegetables. Choice Fried Chicken, pork roast, and pulled pork. Great service, great homey, friendly, picnic style atmosphere, buffet style. Tons of comfort foods like home seasoned rice, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. You’ll never run out of your drinks, because they bring the whole pitcher to your table. Also features a salad and dessert bar! One of my favorite places to go anywhere!! Worth going out of your way try!!! Make sure to leave time for a nap after you here!! / Update, 8-13-22 The food was better than ever, today. And I may be the only one happy about it. It’s not a lot of options around and Lester’s is constant and reliable. The steaks on Friday nights are great. The owners/managers are some of the best people. I’m a fan for the dirty rice and the fried chicken.
