The diner had a great breakfast overall, and the employees were very welcoming, which made the experience pleasant. However, the chicken fried steak was disappointing—it tasted off, almost like it might have been frozen or not fresh. It’s hard to pinpoint, but it didn’t live up to the rest of the meal’s quality. With a bit of improvement there, it could be a solid spot for breakfast.

Best customer service we’ve had in long time. We loved that they all spoke and understood Spanish. Great food! Definitely return again, worth the drive from Melba, Idaho. The juke box was such a cute thing to have on the table. Oldies music while we enjoyed our meals.

Service was very friendly and attentive, food was great. I had the chicken fried steak, it was so tender I could cut it with my fork. Sourdough toast was good as well. Atmosphere was a little loud and bustling, which is what I would expect in a busy diner. Would go out of my way to come here again.

Shorty’s has been decorated to feel like a vintage diner. There are vintage Coca-Cola, Beatles, and other posters on the wall. The servers were nice and did their best to accommodate us.
The food was slow. They had only one cook. The shakes were not great. They tasted like a fast food shake (think McDonald’s).
The rest of the food was fair. The breakfast food was overall better than the other food.

Visiting from out of town and came for breakfast. Ordered a Belgian waffle and eggs Benedict. We watched our eggs Benedict sit on the counter for ~5 minutes before our waffle was done. We received the corn waffle instead but didn’t have time to wait to send it back. Food was nothing special. Service was mid.

I was looking for a great local spot. I did not want one of the hippie places. Shorty’s was fantastic. Connelly was a great, attentive server. The kitchen staff even made my breakfast just the way I like it. Most places don’t listen or even try to help. I highly recommend Shorty’s for your next meal. You will not be disappointed.

What a great diner. The severs are not super talkative but I was there for good food, a table to sit and think about what the day was to bring. Food was outstanding. Love the huevos rancheros with their green chili sauce.

Stopped in on a Sunday morning; not crowded but a steady stream of customers. We both had the “Idaho Scrambler” for breakfast and milkshakes for the road. Service, food, decor were all excellent. Staff was friendly and efficient.

We were greeted immediately and seated. Coffee and water were provide so quickly, too! We both had avocado toast. Was delivered much quicker than expected based on how busy it was and it was delicious! Our serve Kaidence was so friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is so cute. Five stars all around!
