An absolute must try!!!! The kebobs are sublime and the owner is super friendly and accommodating. Party of 8, including a vegetarian and gluten/dairy sensitive guest and everyone left full and happy! Service was perfect. Didn’t rush us but also did leave us sitting around waiting. Been here many times and am never disappointed!

I visited Marjan Fine Persian Grill with a close friend on a beautiful evening, and what followed was a dining experience marked by grace, care, and subtle attention to detail.

We were welcomed just beyond the front door at a small podium. The interior is arranged in such a way that, once seated, you can see only your own table and perhaps a few others, a layout that creates a quiet, intimate atmosphere, rare in most restaurants.

We chose to sit on the patio, drawn by the pleasant weather. Our table was nestled beside a flower bed in full bloom, adding a natural elegance to the setting. The staff prepared our table with a crisp white tablecloth and soft green linens that were clean and thoughtfully pressed without being overly stiff. Menus were paper, tucked into folding plastic sleeves. This appeared simple and practical. Cold water arrived promptly in two glasses.

The menu was descriptive and helped us get a good sense of each dish’s ingredients. That said, someone unfamiliar with Persian cuisine might not immediately recognize which dishes are meant as dips or small plates. A bit more context would help newcomers better navigate what is clearly a well curated menu.

To start, we shared the kashk-e-bademjan, a warm eggplant dip rich in roasted flavor and depth from grilled onions. When we finished the bread before the dip, more was brought to us without request or charge. It was a small gesture, but one that reflects genuine hospitality.

I ordered the Shishlik (lamb chops), which the menu and our server informed us were grassfed and imported from New Zealand. The meat was beautifully cooked, tender, juicy, and clean on the palate, with no heaviness. A few slices of lime on the plate allowed for just the right touch of acidity to brighten each bite. The dish was served with basmati rice, a standout on its own. The rice was aromatic, warm, and perfectly textured, with seasoning that was flavorful yet balanced. It made a wonderful companion to the meal, and even after the lamb was gone, I found myself happily finishing what remained on the plate.

My mint tea arrived with sugar on the side, allowing me to adjust it to my preference. It paired nicely with the food, especially the rice, and added a refreshing balance to the richer elements of the meal.

My friend ordered the kabob-e-kubideh and remarked on how juicy and flavorful the kabob was. It had a deeply appetizing aroma and was cooked just right. It was moist but not oily.

One thoughtful detail worth highlighting was the water, which was brought to us in a decanter filled with ice. This small touch meant we never had to wait for refills or ask for more. We simply poured as needed. It made the meal feel relaxed and uninterrupted.

Our server was attentive and checked in at appropriate moments. We never felt rushed or forgotten. When we asked for the check, it was brought without delay.

The only aspect of the experience that felt out of step with the rest was the restroom. While it was clean and well stocked, it showed signs of neglect. A wet floor sign stood in the corner without purpose, and the walls bore marks and holes from hardware that had long been removed. It didn’t affect the hygiene, but it did slightly detract from the overall sense of care that was so evident elsewhere. That said, the water was warm, and the soap had a lovely scent, small but appreciated comforts.

In all, Marjan offered us more than a meal. it offered us a moment of peace and richness, shared among good company. The food is excellent, the service attentive, and the setting thoughtful. I would not hesitate to return.

It was a great experience having delicious and juicy Persian kebabs. The meat was soft, tender, and juicy. The service was quick and friendly. Overall, my family had a great time. The food was great, and we would definitely return.
Only side note. They need more high chairs.
Also, street parking is difficult. But there is a garage 2 blocks away.

We ordered chicken soltani and jujeh kabob, both were delicious! The persian ice cream was not to be missed! We loved the service as well. The only down side was there are mosquitos flying around the backside of the restaurant (we sat on the last table near the toilet area)

Quaint Persian restaurant with good food. Their “Barg” Kabab was exceptionally good. The rice was well made and their house douq (yugort drinks) was not bad. Parking is on the street only. There is a public parking structure up the street.

Food was delicious, definitely recommend trying out the appetizer combination platter. The sirloin kabob with saffron rice was juicy, ton of flavor was amazing. The Shirin Polo was fragrant just a caution a little too sweet for my liking but still loaded with flavor. Only qualm I had was the Fesenjoon was way too sweet and almost felt like borderline desert. Definitely something I would order again. Other than that all the dishes were great and the service was top notch. Would definitely be coming back to try other dishes.

It was my first attempt that I’ve been in a Persian restaurant. All dishes seemed very lower calories but enough food and exotic tastes. I loved to be there.
I would recommend there if anyone would have exotic food.

Delicious food! Excellent service! If you want to try a very unique dessert, try faloudeh, very different texture with the frozen rice noodles and refreshing with the lemon sorbet, not too sweet, perfect ending for a meal

I usually don’t leave low reviews, but I hope this helps them improve. I ordered the lamb kebab for pickup, and after driving back, I was really disappointed. The meat was dry and the portion was very small. The rice was also dry, and there was no sauce on the side. When I called to ask for tzatziki or hot sauce, the owner said guests have to order and pay extra. If you are going to charge $20 for a lunch portion, at least make it worth it with more than dry rice and tiny pieces of meat. Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back.
