The food was delicious. The sushi is easily some of the best we’ve had we tried the California Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, JB Roll, Crunchy Roll, and the Yummy Roll, and everything was fresh and full of flavor. We also ordered several appetizers and loved the crispy brussels sprouts, veggie dumplings, Tokyo fries (served with an incredible sauce), tempura asparagus, rocket shrimp with a nice kick, calamari karaage, and the house salad with wasabi vinaigrette. Everything was beautifully presented and packed with flavor.
A huge plus is their happy hour from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. They offer $5 beers, $5 sake, and $8 cocktails, along with many food options during happy hour priced between about $6 and $12, which is an excellent deal for the quality.
The menu is quite extensive, so there’s something for everyone. This place truly surprised us, and we will definitely be back. Ask for Richard he took great care of us and provided excellent service. Highly recommend if you’re in the Plantation area!
I’m a huge Pad Thai fan so I get to taste other places’p pad thais
Pad Thai is 9/10 for me cause it suites my taste, not too greasy, not salty, noodles are perfect.. I just find it a little bit dry compare to others I’ve tasted.
We will definitely be a regular here.
We started with the Tom Yum Soup, which was rich, bold, and full of flavor—perfectly spicy and comforting. Then came the star of the show: the sushi. Every piece was beautifully presented and incredibly fresh. The Salmon Nigiri with caviar was a luxurious bite, and the specialty roll topped with jalapeño added the perfect touch of heat and crunch.
The staff was friendly, attentive, and clearly knowledgeable about the menu. You can tell they take pride in their ingredients and preparation. The “Fresh, Never Frozen” sign on the wall isn’t just for show—they truly deliver on quality.
Whether you’re a sushi connoisseur or just out for a great meal, Otoro is a must-visit spot in Plantation. Already planning our next visit!
However, the service could definitely use some improvement. It felt like I was anything but a priority during my visit. The staff attending to guests seem to be on the younger side, and I think it’s important to instill good service characteristics to enhance the overall experience. My server appeared to have a buddy at the bar who, despite not ordering food or drinks, was prioritized over the guests.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that there are no lunch specials available, so be prepared for a pricier meal. Two rolls and miso soup came to the mid-$40 range, which seems a bit unnecessary for lunch.
That said, the food itself was fantastic, and as I mentioned before, the atmosphere is really appealing. With a bit more focus on service and perhaps some lunch specials, Otoro Sushi + Asian Kitchen has the potential to be a standout spot.
