Favorite Indian restaurant was my go-to buffet (good value for $12), until I discovered Frontier Spice in Pleasanton. If you are introducing friends to Indian food, this restaurant is good for their fish pakora, butter chicken, garlic naan, rice pudding, and mango ice cream. If you’ve eaten a lot of Indian food and are willing to forego variety for higher quality, check out Frontier Spice for $13. At Favorite Indian, it’s a good idea to go a bit after noon for their buffet, to give the dishes a chance to warm up a bit.
8/15/17 Update: The fish pakora is always too salty. The butter chicken still had some bones in it. To get decently hot food, stir from the bottom of the trays. Garlic naan was reheated. It is not a good sign when the mango ice cream and the rice pudding are the highlights! For $12, both Curry Cravings and India Garden in Pleasanton are better. Downgrading to 3 stars.

I have been to all 3 locations of this chain in Bay area, food was ok nothing surprising, salad and fruits were sub par but I know that’s not what you go to Indian buffet for.

I don’t know whether there are better Indian buffet, but this is the one that I like the most so far. I remember when I was at here, they have a good atmosphere, good service and appropriate drink and desert options. So many guest there maybe a proof that this is a good place to go. For foods they offered the average kinds of Indian rices, sauces, chickens, but they were really good cooked and tasty. I felt so good when I had the dinner there.

My experience to this place had surprised me today. I was expecting the usual south Asian buffet( like many others) with same kind of food choices, but out here the food tasted fresh and yummy. The place was busy, clean and welcoming. Variety of foods was presented to satisfy all vegetarian and non vegetarian people. The best part of the day was they provided fresh naans through out meal. Also kids loved the ice cream options and dessert. Definitely a must go to this place…:)

Always a good experience either to eat in or have a take out. If you want to taste good authentic Indian food than this is the place. On buffet days there is a good selection of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes and the naan bread is always freshly brought out. Good for larger groups as well.

One of the few Indian restaurants with consistent quality of their food. You will either like their version of Indian food or you will not, but it will remain consistent with every visit….unlike many other places, which are a hit or a miss.
Lunch buffet is pretty good and reasonably priced. Have come here with family / friends/ colleagues…5 stars Everytime .

I usually go to the location in Hayward, this was my first time here. The buffet food is good, the selection is varied and they are good at restocking and taking dirty plates. The line can get really backed up, but they’re popular and the restaurant has limited space. Recommend coming before 12pm to beat the lunch crow.

Barely OK. Had the weekend buffet.
Enough buffet choices, but the somewhat bland food did not appeal to my tastes. To be fair to them, I do realize many patrons (Indian or not) can’t handle authentic tastes, and they provide hot sauces on the side, but it’s sad when the dishes lose all character and instead are focused on quantity.
I will skip this place in future.

Fantastic. For a small restaurant they had a very nice selection on the buffet, all the usual items and made my wife happy that they had a goat selection. Soda and mango ice cream came with it. We will be back. Staff and owner were very nice and accommodating/ understanding with all our kids.

My favorite Indian restaurant in the San Ramon area although not good, not great. Their buffet offers a good value with a range of options for vegetarians and non- vegetarians alike. And there cooked to order dishes are tasty and fresh.
