We absolutely loved our first visit here at Po Folks! We so wanted that southern comfort food and they did not disappoint. The fried chicken is absolutely amazing! The vegetables so delicious, but I will tell you the mashed potatoes are instant. I was so disappointed by this. I really expected them to be homemade mashed potatoes.

I had to go! I live is SC, this is where they stated. As a kid this was an amazing place, we still talk about it once a year. And it was probably last in Greer SC 1986.
The bone in-catfish was excellent, sides very small. Okra was great, but only a hand full. Red beans and rice, not so great, no twing and no love. I am glad I ran across PoFolks on a floor and decor run.

My husband and I stopped here after a weekend in St. Pete, before we headed back to Central Florida because he had one been wanting to try it. We ordered quite a few things to go and they were hit or miss. Fried pickles and fried green tomatoes are very good. I like the fact that they’re not full of grease even though they’re fried if you know what I’m saying.. he also really enjoyed the fried full catfish the one with the bones and the fried chicken was okay. I got the Callaway shrimp or castaway shrimp which were like popcorn shrimp. They were not good. Some of them still had raw dough on the inside of them and we’re mushy. I threw most of them away. The sides I got was macaroni and cabbage. The macaroni and cheese was okay and very creamy but It doesn’t have a lot of flavor. I did enjoy the cabbage with the bacon in it. My husband also liked the red beans and rice but the coleslaw. I don’t know what is going on with that coleslaw.. it is the most disgusting coleslaw I’ve ever had. It tasted sour so I don’t know if it’s normally supposed to taste like that or we just had old spoiled coleslaw. Overall we wouldn’t be back after spending over $70 today on the 3 meals and 2 appetizers.

This place has the most DELICIOUS food!!! The chicken dumplings are to die for… seriously They taste JUST like how my grandmas used to… I didn’t even know that was possible. and the biscuits and gravy… OUTSTANDING. I wasn’t expecting them to blow me out of the water, considering everything is a very cheap price. I’ve been in St. Pete 3 years now and always pass this place and finally decided to give it a shot on DoorDash the other day. Says a lot how good and fresh the food still was even after delivery. Really this food made me feel so happy and cozy…You can tell it’s all made with love. Please eat here!! And thank you to the staff!!!!

I haven’t been to a PoFolks since I was a kid! I didn’t expect it to be so cool and such a blast from the past! The service was excellent and had a real southern feel. We got fried chicken meals since that’s what they’re known for. I got mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. The chicken tenders were gross that my son got. We expected it to be fresh tenders but they were like Sam’s Club frozen. So I don’t recommend those, but the regular fried chicken was good. The biscuits were also not great.

I recently learned that a Po Folks restaurant was operating in St. Pete and it has been 30 years since my last visit. I ordered the 1/2 Fried Chicken Dinner and It was an amazing experience and the food was excellent!

Came here for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised to see the variety on the menu as well as some healthy options. I got the blackened haddock with some broccoli and I did cheat and get some mac & cheese – my mom had an open face hot turkey sandwich – one of her favorites, and it was delicious. Service was polite and fast and I was pleasantly surprised.
