Stopped in with the family because we were in the neighborhood looking for a good meal to eat. Had an amazing night. The food and atmosphere were great, and the service was outstanding! Location was very family friendly and accommodating. The owner herself took time to talk with us and have genuine conversation. She has 3 locations: here, Covington& Renton. Highly recommend stopping in at any of these if your close by to enjoy a great dinner. Only disappointment for us is that it’s not closer to our home, because we would definitely be regulars.

We went to Mizu on a mid-winter Wednesday night to celebrate a 4-year-old’s birthday with two families (eight people total, all kids under six), so our expectations were intentionally modest. The experience exceeded them.

The restaurant was welcoming and accommodating for a group with young kids, which is not always easy. Service was patient and friendly, and we never felt rushed or out of place despite the early, family-heavy vibe. The food was solid across the board. Nothing was overhyped, but consistently good and well-prepared, with options that worked for both adults and kids.

Overall, it was a relaxed, enjoyable evening and a great choice for a low-key family celebration. We would absolutely return, especially for an easy weeknight dinner.

Our experience here was not good.. The food was very salty and was almost not edible. The server was rude and seemed annoyed that we wanted to partake in the hibachi experience, even though we had a reservation. She rolled her eyes while I was giving her our order because I repeated shrimp tempura twice since she didn’t acknowledge me when I said it the first time. Terrible customer service in this establishment, not even a thank you when we were leaving. The only reason I’m giving them two stars is because the hibachi chef was funny and made us feel a bit at ease. We won’t be back!

People were really nice. Food was pretty ok. Hibachi style Japanese steakhouses are always fun. But the Google page says $20-30 a person. The kids menu has options for $20. Adults are closer to $30-80 a person depending on what you order.

The serving staff was very kind!
We picked this location because it was nearby and we were in the mood for sushi & hibachi. However, they DO NOT have sushi! (Even though it says Steak• Seafood •Sushi on the building sign as well as their menus).
Our chef was not very interactive. He simply cooked with little attempt to “entertain ” as they usually do when you sit at the hibachi tables. The other table had a very interactive chef. Ok, fine…no biggie. Aside from another table of 5, we were the only other table. We had empty drinks more often than not and had to ask for refills. Lastly, we got charged for a “rice upgrade” because we got fried rather than steamed rice. That wasn’t mentioned when ordering nor do I recall ever being charged for rice at other similar style restaurants. Overall, our food was good. Stop in and experience for yourself!

So I ate here last night at the Gig Harbor location on 10/26/25. We started with appetizers that were really good. The fried calamari rings were delicious and so was the sauce. The gyoza was hot but tasted like any other teriyaki locations nothing special.

Then we received soup and salad which were good. Then the food began to be cooked. We received our steamed rice which was terrible. For this to be hibachi the rice was beyond disappointing. The rice was long grain and not jasmine and had a weird taste to it. The fried rice was okay the kids loved it, but it’s 5 extra dollars to be tossed in some
Soy sauce and an egg.

I ordered a ribeye, lobster, and shrimp. I really felt that the beef was a low grade and everything from the grill was really greasy.
The shrimp were okay and lobster okay. Their dipping sauces were gross. They were very thick and cold.

The best part of the entire meal were the steamed vegetables. There were no bean sprouts at the end and no sherbet. I had a feeling that they may know that the food is not that good because they must have asked us 10 times if the food was good.

The bathroom was clean although cold. The restaurant itself was clean and nice decor. Would I go back no, I’ll do the drive to federal way for Tokyo steakhouse.

We’ve been her many times before so we were a little disappointed. Despite having reservations, others were served before us. They had only one person serving besides the two working grill chefs in the whole restaurant, and no bartender. My steak was under done raw and cold and red in the middle (I had ordered medium rare). I don’t like writing negative reviews, and I think they were just having a bad night. We’ll go again, in anticipation of a better experience.

It was expensive but worth it. Me and my husband came in with friends. For a double date, thire service was wonderful. We let them know my husband has a food allergy they had his food separate plate. They where professional about it. Our chef was great he made us smile. Everything about the place was perfect. Definitely want to come back someday.

Best sushi in Gig Harbor! We’ve tried the hibachi once. It was very fun but it can be a bit of a gimmick. The sushi is the reason we keep coming back again and again. Mizu is by far the best sushi you will find outside of Seattle.
