This restaurant used to be the butt of our jokes. But after going in we realized that they have good quality seafood. We didn’t realize this until we went to one of our higher-end chain restaurants and ordered Lobster and it came out smelling like fish and it was cooked too long which made it rubbery. This is my 16-year-old daughter returning Lobster to the kitchen at this high in restaurant. I don’t eat lobster so I wouldn’t know so I told the waiter he’d have to take it up with her. The next time we returned to the Laughing Crab, she said see Mama this is good quality seafood. This place is great because you can choose your spice whether it’s mild or hot then you choose your flavor. My daughter always chooses Cajun mild. I’ve tried the garlic butter before and it’s good. I don’t remember the other flavors. Now let’s talk about the fried food baskets they have. Everything is fried in the same batter so if you get a filet and Shrimp Basket just know that it’s all going to be in the same breading. So not much difference in taste. This is the only thing that I wish they would change because the batter is actually pretty thick. I wish they would just fry things lightly floured. Our overall experience is always great but it can be pretty pricey if you dont take advantage of their specials.

Clean place with friendly employees.
Price is fair, and the portions are large. The food and drinks came out quick and hot! The wait staff checked on us timely and were efficient when requests were made.
The location accommodated all 20 of us easily. There’s probably seating for about 100 people comfortably, not including the bar seating.
The restrooms were clean.

We visited West Monroe and came across this restaurant on Google Maps. We decided to give it a try, and boy are we happy that we did. The interior of the restaurant kind of has an old school feel, not that this is a bad thing. The staff was friendly and the service was good. What really stands out is the excellent tasting food that is served in very large portions at a fraction of the cost of other seafood restaurants – in fact I’m not sure how they are able to do it. My fried shrimp basket had about 10 to 12 medium sized shrimp plus fries for $15.00. Overall, I recommend this place to anyone looking for great Cajun Seafood served in large portions at a great price!

My fiancé and I were really looking forward to trying this place since the reviews were so good, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing.
We arrived around 8:00 PM and waited about 30 minutes for our crawfish (which is understandable) The egg and potatoes were good, but we did not receive the sausage that was supposed to come with the order. We also didn’t even finish the potatoes. The crawfish itself was very soggy and most of them had straight tails, which was concerning and not the quality we expected.
We calmly brought this to their attention and explained that we understood they close at 10:00 PM and weren’t asking them to remake the batch — we just didn’t feel comfortable paying for the entire order given the quality. The waitress was kind and seemed sympathetic, but after speaking with the manager, we were told they could only offer 15% off and a free pound of shrimp for “next time.” We explained that we’re from out of town and wouldn’t be able to use that offer.
What was most disappointing was that the manager never came to speak to us directly and didn’t seem interested in resolving the situation. We ultimately paid the full tab and left rather than escalating it further.
Overall, the food was pretty bad, the waitresses were very nice, but the management handled the situation poorly. Definitely not the experience we were hoping for.

This snow crab and black mussel boil with house spice at medium heat was absolute perfection. Our server Rhonda was the best with her effortless kindness, beautiful smile and precise timing. Can’t recommend this place enough

The crab was old and not fresh. It was shriveled and dry, with no meat. The shrimp were okay, but maybe two out of four won’t return. It seemed like they cooked the crab six hours ago and re-dipped it to make it look fresh. I really wanted to like this place, but I wasted $40.00. The best thing in the bag was the corn and potatoes. The servers didn’t care about the food, and it wasn’t good. I know nothing will come of this, and no one cares. They respond to complaints, but they never take action. I should have went to captain Ds they have better food than this place and that says a lot . Save your money and go somewhere else

The food was very tasty. The crust on the fish was like eating fried chicken! But I love that. The fish did taste muddy tho. I don’t care for muddy catfish. The atmosphere was okay. Too many people just standing around doing nothing. And outside was not very clean at entry way. We had to excuse ourselves to enter for young people hanging and playing around the front door when we arrived. Sweet potato fries are excellent! Our waitress was perfect! The bathrooms need sprucing up some.

Sorry to leave this review but I tried to call multiple times after order was open was I got home but no one would answer. Our food was supposed to be ready by 6:00-6:05pm but mistakenly given to someone else and they had to remake order. There was a little back and forth about it from employee to manager. Order finally was done at 6:28pm but because it was rushed the sausage was forgotten on the order. Also, overall taste lacked as well. I hate it because it’s usually good. If I were in town I would have taken it back but being almost 30 minutes out that wasn’t an option.

A lot of these style restaurants are hit and miss and I’ve tried a lot of them all over the country. This one didn’t miss. Service was great, food was great. Portions are huge and fairly priced. Will be back
