My husband is in town for work and we came here for Taco Tuesday! It has a nice vibe to the place, the service was great and our food came out really well! The food was delicious! Would recommend the chicken mole and the chicken and shrimp fajitas!

This is an actual, true hidden gem in Knoxville.
It is hiding in plain sight. Small family owned business, and everyone is so pleasant.
The food is amazing. It is truly genuine and authentic Mexican food. I’ve never had anything I didn’t love and I’m the world’s pickiest eater.
This is also one of my favorite places to get a drink. I’ve only found about four restaurants that put actual effort into your drink here in Knoxville but what sets them apart from the others are that they use garnishes you can eat like kiwi, blackberry, grapefruit, cherry, and even some are garnished with spicy Mexican tamarindo candy. All the drinks are different, and they are all amazing. Even the glasses are fancy.
If you like pretty cocktails this is your spot.
Just try it. You won’t regret it.
Also, side note: everyone thinks the best hidden gem in Knoxville is chez guevara, but I think that people say that because they don’t have a sign, but everyone already knows about it. So, not so hidden. It is simply wholly overrated Texmex in a cramped space.

Cataleya Cantina was great from start to finish. The service was quick, friendly, and efficient, and the food came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. Everything was well seasoned and made to truly savor. I ordered the pizzabirria and it absolutely did not disappoint. The crust was perfectly crisp, the cheese was melted just right, and the birria was tender, rich, and packed with bold, savory seasoning. The consomme on the side added even more depth and made every bite even better. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming with a modern, colorful setup that made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, Cataleya Cantina delivered excellent service, fantastic food, and a standout pizzabirria that I highly recommend trying.

Stopped in this beautiful and maticulously clean establishment for an afternoon snack and cocktail. While receiving excellent service we watched staff cleaning continuously. Great recommendations were made! I truly believe anything you eat here would be amazing! Definitely plan on returning!

We stumbled in here one night with some friends after looking for a place that was open around 9pm for dinner. It really did not disappoint!
The restaurant was super clean. The servers were friendly. Food was delicious! They were so accommodating for how late it was and we really appreciated that! Will be back some time to try more of their menu!

If you are wanting traditional style Mexican food, excellent service, and a friendly, clean atmosphere then this is the place for you! We have shared on multiple occasions different selections off of the dinner menu and each one of them have been outstanding! The quality of the food, the presentation, and the taste of everything…delicious! My favorite is the Chicken Mole… amazing! At times it can be a little bit noisy (especially with family and kids) but the booths are very quiet and cozy. We will definitely be back for more! Love this place!

I often find myself looking for a decent spot to eat after work. My girlfriend and I happen to stumble upon this place on the way home at around midnight. Both of us were pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant is open until 1 am on weekends. Not only was the atmosphere top notch, but every bit of our experience proved to be better than we could have ever expected. The decor is modern and inviting, the tequilla selection is clearly hand picked by someone who knows about quality product. The chips and salsa were fresh, even this late at night. When the food came out, it really stole the show. I had the shrimp tacos and was Blown away by the fresheness of the shrimp, the quality of of the tortillas and the delicate layered flavors throughout. Everything tasted homemade especially the Creamy salsa that rested on top of these beautiful plated tacos. I have been to several mexican restaurants all over knoxville and have usually had a set expectation of what I will be getting because most of them are run of the mill. This place takes the cake and blows any other mexican restaurant I have been to out of the water. The freshness, the quality of food and the decor sets Cataleya Cantina apart from everyone else. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE. If you are out looking for a late night food provider that delivers this is the spot. BRAVO to the fine people who run this establishment. We will be back often and with excitement.
