On August 2012 with the help of her family and her amazing staff “Patty’s Café” opened its doors to the public and has since become a MUST in the area of La Mesa. Bringing in clientele that remembers Patty from her waitressing days to a new crowd who is just excited to try all the dishes her menu has to offer. With excellent food, great ambiance and people working hard to make your dining experience the best and hopefully make a client and a friend out of you!

A great Neighborhood Restaurant in La Mesa area. The food is great; the service is prompt, friendly, and efficient. Our waiter, Alberto, was very accommodating and patient with our orders. There’s plenty of parking. We were there at 10 am which was perfect…before the lunch crowd.

The waitress with the thick accent would not let me substitute sausage for fruit and I’m 9mos pregnant. She made me pay for fruit on the side and pay for the sausage which I don’t eat. She took forever to bring me syrup and completely ruined my day and experience. Made the food taste like it was made from spite…or spit. I don’t think Patty would be happy about this. I’ve never left a review in my life and I will not recommend this place.

Great little diner in strip mall. Fast friendly service on a Monday morning 10 minutes after they open. A couple sitting outside and 6 locals inside when I arrived. Ordered simple breakfast. Coffee was outstanding. They use a Farmers brew that is high end not what ends up in stores. Over easy eggs were perfect. 4 slices of bacon instead of the usual 3 in other restaurants. Hash browns cooked fresh. Sour dough bread toasted and buttered spot on. Will go back to try options on the expanded menu.

My experience is quite different than several others on here. I was actually surprised that our waitress was unfriendly not very pleasant to deal with and honestly the food was just mediocre at best. I was pretty disappointed after reading all of the reviews and was expecting this place to be kind of a diamond in the rough but it ended up being more like a older not updated restaurant with waitresses that weren’t very pleasant and food that was not great. I was surprised that the place was kind of dirty the carpet was wrecked and old and on everything the food was really nothing to write home about. I had the biscuits and gravy the gravy had no flavor the biscuits were flat and didn’t rise and I had eggs which were fine the best thing about the whole meal was actually the hash browns that I thought were pretty good they weren’t overcooked they weren’t undercooked they were just right. I didn’t even try the sausage cuz it didn’t look cooked all the way like it might have been heated in the microwave or something it wasn’t touched on a grill wasn’t even burnt like at all or even like it was cooked on a grill. They have dial-up internet still which they used to process credit our payments so it takes a long time. I probably won’t be in here again honestly I did not think the service was great and I did not think the food was worth going back for. I could have made the food at home if I wanted to have that type of breakfast. Overall I think crowd that goes here is probably the same crowd that comes here every day or every week and they’re all older and much more stuck in their ways. I just moved the area so I was looking for a new restaurant to try to go to on a regular basis but this is probably not it the location does have a lot of parking but the location is also next to a Big Lots and a bar and it really wasn’t that exciting.

Hole in the wall place. Hidden gem. Great seafood omelette, excellent portions. Reasonable prices. Sunday morning around 9. No wait. Plenty of seats. Lots of options for side- hash browns, fruit or Mexican style.

Hidden gem! Very casual diner atmosphere, inviting and plenty of seating. Shirley was our (gorgeous) waitress, she was quick to get our drink order, gave us time to review the menu wirh a couple check ins, was great with refills (never an empty class of coffee cup), was very friendly and helpful. Once our orders were in, the food came out quickly-very respectful of your time for breakfast.
The waffle was not only beautifully browned, crisp and fluffy, but had a really good flavor -you could just eat it with butter no syrup. Sausage patties were good size and well cooked, not greasy.
The Egg Skillet -with chopped bacon, diced green chiles & onions, and jack cheese, it so hits the spot as this all sits atop slicely sliced & well seasoned potatoes, so very yummy!

The food is delicious, good portions, and staff is nice. I came here with some friends for the first time, and I ordered the Gyro plate and some fries on the side. The plate came with a greek side salad that was fresh and delicious, the meat was tender and flavorful, the tzatziki sauce was yummy, and the bread and rice were great. The fries were also nicely salted and crispy. The dishes my friends ordered also looked really good, and they said they loved their food as well. They have an array of dishes from greek, mexican, and american diner food,0and honestly everything looks good, so I don’t think you could go wrong with any of the food. Overall great place to eat and I will definitely be coming back to try more

EXCELLENT omelettes, large selection of pancakes. My husband is a Chief and was impressed with the Ribeye steak and eggs, the cut was tasty and cooked exactly how he wanted. The waiter named Alberto went above and beyond to assure our order was exactly what we wanted.Alberto is definitely an ASSET, Professional, Knowledgeable with a beautiful personality, because of this waiter we all will always come back and refer all our friends and family
