Food and service was great.
Margarita was average, but wasn’t expecting it to be a 10 at an Italian restaurant.
Tomato Basil soup was 9/10.
Salads were great.
Bread and oil was good.
Fried Calamari was good.
Fried Mozzarella was good.
Steak was cooked perfectly.
My Rigatoni pasta arrived hot and delicious.
Yum. Will definitely eat here again.

Just moved to Murfreesboro and decided to try some local “authentic Italian” food. I will first say that I am a chef who has owned three restaurants for nearly ten years. That being said, my husband and I both regularly order multiple items from restaurants to try out their quality. So we ordered a bottle of wine, meatballs, smoked salmon bruschetta, lasagna and a full rack of lamb. So to start, the olive oil that the owner poured was given to us with bread. The bread wasn’t bad but the olive oil was rancid because true quality olive oil should be green to slightly light green and never bitter to taste. Then the meatballs arrived and our salmon bruschetta. The smoked salmon I would give a 5 on, but the bruschetta tasted old and not fresh at all and questionable if it is homemade. The meatballs though were the absolute disgrace to this restaurant. These meatballs were 100% purchased at either Sam’s club, Costco or Restaurant Depot. They were disgusting and it’s an absolute shame because it’s not difficult to make homemade fresh meatballs. The sauce tasted like a can of Ragu as well. Then as we waited for our meal, our wine came out and was not what was described on the menu. It’s was to be a blend of sweet pears, pineapple Pinot Grigio but instead was a lemony Sauvignon Blanc. At this point I felt like I was eating samples at Costco and very concerned about our Entrees. Well when they came out I will say it wasn’t a shock because it was exactly what my fears were. The lasagna was bland and plain and the lamb was tasteless and not cooked medium rare as specified. The potatoes were drenched in grease and inedible. I was extremely disappointed because we saw they won so many awards in 2016-2017. I do not know what had happened to this restaurant since then but it seems to have gone downhill. It’s very sad and it deeply saddens me to write this review because I know how difficult it is to run a restaurant, but my hope is that they will read this and better their quality so that they can build themselves back up. It’s constructive criticism. The atmosphere is very dark, which is normal in Italian restaurants, but this is an uninviting type of darkness which hinders a good pleasant feeling unlike the romantic type of atmosphere. Lastly, the waiter and owner were friendly but the waiter, who is the son served us smelling like cigarettes and that just dropped my appetite even worse. It’s extremely unprofessional and I hope it changes. I won’t be back anytime soon because after spending $115 on a meal for two, I had to stop and get my husband another meal somewhere else. Maybe we will try again in six months to see if it gets better. In all sincerity, I hope so for them. I posted pics and food looks great but looks are definitely deceiving.

This was disappointing. I’m not one to complain but I do think the owner needs to be aware. Milano’s has always had a reputation & historical factors here in Murfreesboro for a very long time. I ate here a couple years ago with family that was visiting in town and it was amazing. But today I had some family visiting and we went to back there tonight and it was absolutely disgusting.
First off the hostess that was preparing to seat us, grabbed a plate off a table behind the hostess station and put just ground black peppercorn on a serving dish and poured some oil on it. We were then seated at a table next to a window that had so much grime and dust on the blinds, it was such a turn off. This place seriously needs to be cleaned. The restaurant was filthy.
We were brought a loaf of bread with a very dull knife, and some parts were rather stale. The oil that we were served was absolutely rancid to taste and without any Italian spices, just black pepper. I will say the calamari appetizer we ordered was good. But most of our entrées weren’t even edible. The eggplant parmesan was not breaded at all whatsoever. It was just grilled unseasoned eggplant on top of a complete pool of water and angel hair pasta with some crushed tomatoes & cheese. The Alfredo pasta tasted awful. It tasted like heavy cream, butter, and almond milk. It had a weird nutty aftertaste that was completely bland with no seasoning whatsoever. The pesto pasta with pine nuts had 0 pine nuts and literally just tasted like rancid oil and chopped up basil, with pasta cooked in dirty dish water. My brother took two bites and boxed it up to take it home with the intention to spruce it up himself but once we got home, he couldn’t even look at it, it disgusted him so much and in the trash it went. The waitress was super sweet, but towards the middle to end of the meal, she asked if everything was good and I said “Well” , and then she said “great” and walked away. I can only assume that she noticed not much of the food was even touched when boxes were asked for. I don’t really feel like we had any real time to communicate and we should have. I really hope things turn around because was/can be such a charming place.

They make some of the best old fashioned cocktails! Apparently they’re quite popular for them. The food was excellent. Service wise, couldn’t ask for more.
Had the Zuppe of the Sea, and the Smoked Bruschetta. Both were excellent.
Tony was playing music some of the evening in the corner from the bar. He plays every Friday evening I’m told.
Building is a little old, but the place feels very historic. Definitely recommend stopping in!

If i had to describe this restaurant in a short phrase it would be, looks are deceiving!
Meaning the food looks better than it tastes!
Was really hoping for a delicious Italian meal however this place was a huge and extremely disappointing miss!
Even the dessert was dismal, the canolli filling was grainy, it was awful!
The wine options are pretty terrible as well.
The staff was pleasant.
I would never bring visitors nor clients here.
The saving grace is the cool old building.

Tried this place Friday night, and unfortunately, it just wasn’t hit for us. We should have known, when we arrived and the place was dead on a Friday night. Started with an order of the mozzarella sticks. We were expecting crispy, flavorful, homemade mozzarella sticks, as they came highly recommended by our server. They were soft, non crispy, store bought, frozen sticks with no flavor. We then ordered an Old Fashion and a prosecco… old fashion was sweet and too red in color. The prosecco was old and flat. For our entrees, we ordered the chicken parmesean with a side of broccoli and the Milano’s Favorite pasta and added the suggested shrimp. Portions were great, but both dishes lacked a wow factor and seasoning. Overall for $72 before tip, we left highly disappointed and wasted a lot of food. Wasn’t worth taking it home!
Our server was great. The atmosphere was drab. We really wanted to like this place, but it just didn’t happen.

Had an awesome meal at Milano II & Jack’s place tonight…simply fantastic. Sat at the bar and Sam (who I later found out is the owners son) who got me set up with a beer and some hot baked bread. I started off with some Bruschetta (very good) and ordered the blackened grouper topped with shrimp and a creamy sundried pesto sauce with some pasta and roasted red potatoes. This dish is incredible…some of the best fish I’ve had in a very long time. The seasoning used to blacken the grouper wasn’t overpowering and really complimented the creamy pesto sauce. Sam was a great host and I really enjoyed our conversation along with meeting his Dad and the owner Jack. Been a long time since I visited this spot but I will be back to enjoy some other dishes here.

I REALLY REALLY wanted to like this place. Host was friendly and was seated right away even though we didn’t have a reservation. Service was shotty and the place wasn’t very busy. The ambiance was poor and very dark with no type of candle light or dim lights. We sat in a small dark area of the restaurant.
The food was mediocre with the mozzarella sticks looking like they were out of a frozen bad and the plastic cup of watery marinara sauce. Honestly, Sonic has better ones. The salmon bruschetta tasted as if the salmon was boiled and not cooked or grilled. The oil and spice plate for the bread sat there until about 30 minutes later when the bread came out.
I wanted to like this place so badly but unfortunately will never be back.

This is my favorite place for my birthday dinner and other special occasions. The lamb chops are my absolute favorite. I love the atmosphere and the staff. The owners are some of the best people around. Be sure to visit when you are in town.

Food was good but very oily. Service could have been a little better. Waiter rarely checked in. Never came by before or after the entrees to refill our drinks.
