We have been coming to this location for many years. Tonight was one of the worst experiences we’ve had in a very long time. The store manager himself was cooking steaks and could not get it together to save our lives. He was butterflying steaks and they were still coming out completely rare. He was cooking two steaks at a time, even though there were countless people coming up to get a steak and he was turning them away. If someone tried to stand there and wait for the steak to cook, he would literally tell them to go sit down and wait. I’ve never seen such a bad attitude on a manager. I’ve also never seen a manager of a restaurant who could not cook a steak. I wish I could’ve got behind the counter and cooked the steaks for everybody for him. He had no idea what he was doing, he was treating all the customers very rudely, and he was ruining the steaks. The customers were all sitting around at our different tables talking to each other about how bad the steaks were. It was a joke. And he was being rude because he knew he was the manager, and there was nothing nobody could do about it. We had all paid good money to eat steaks. And none of us had an actual steak that we enjoyed. There were at least six of us tables who had never met each other, but we were talking about it with each other. That’s how bad it was. Then I went to get dessert and there was literally only two servings of cake left in the entire display case. Mind you it was only 6:15 PM. It should have been full. IT WASN’T EVEN THAT BUSY! Here is a picture of sums of the steaks that man wasted. I was so mad.

They opened at 11 and at 1108 we was sitting and eating food was cold not lukewarm COLD!!! Walls nasty plates dirty. Pot roast was either over cooked or old which is what I’m going with. 1 waiter for the whole place. From the steam you would think the food was hot and that was not the case. Everything was awful!!! They need Gordon Ramsey honestly!!!!

I have been to Golden Corral in CO too! This is OKAY food, NO vegetarian food though! I am not a vegetarian yet can’t eat a lot of meats due to allergies. I was brought here by a very nice lady who does like it! Service was GREAT & what I ate was MEH, rather go to another place. Wasn’t my thing rather go to a different buffet!

Went here on a whim as my significant other has been to other ones where they are from. From the start the team member at the front ignored us for several minutes and told us to wait while he worked on silverware. Once they were done we walked into a complete and utter disaster.

Food was all over the floor and the buffet area. The dessert station looked as though it had been ransacked. I felt uncomfortable eating in general and only tried things the team members were bringing directly from the kitchen. One of those items was their mac and cheese and even coming from the kitchen was luke warm at best. That raises the question on their food handling and holding practices. Food should be kept at the proper temperature otherwise you are going to make a lot of people very sick. Also on a whim tried one of their eclairs and it was still frozen.

I also watched our server grabbing dirty dishes off tables and then touching items on our tables. Cross contamination should really be a focus. I barely had a plate of food and felt so disgusted seeing this.

I did see a manager walk up to a table next to us and speak to them but we were not table touched by a manager. Called today at 11am and was told there was no manager and to call back later. I did so and spoke to Jim who asked if I had requested to speak to a manager during my visit last night, i stated no and his response was “well I’m not really sure what you’d like me to do” at which point i realized he was never going to resolve anything or make up for a horrible experience.

It’s not my responsibility to point out things that are happening in your place of business. I did see the same manager sitting at a table eating as we left, which is a horrible look for a manager to be eating in a dining room that looks the way it did. By far one of the worst experiences I have ever had, charging $45 dollars for that is laughable.

On March 3, 2026, my family and I drove 50 minutes to dine at your Maplewood, Minnesota location, and unfortunately, it was an extremely disappointing experience from start to finish.

First, with our paid kids meal, we did not receive the kids cup that was supposed to be included. We only realized this halfway through our meal after reviewing the receipt and had to request the drink at that point. This should have been provided at the time of purchase.

The cleanliness of the restaurant was unacceptable. The walls were visibly dirty, and the bathroom was partially out of order and extremely unsanitary. It was so filthy that I did not feel comfortable using the changing table to change my baby’s diaper. No parent should feel that way in a public restaurant.

Additionally, the buffet area was in terrible condition. Spilled food was not cleaned up, surfaces were dirty, and the floors were unkempt. The food selection itself was disappointing — items were picked over, not being rotated, and appeared old and skimpy. It was unappetizing to the point that I barely ate and completely lost my appetite.

Overall, I feel that I wasted both my time and money making the drive and dining at this location. The experience was far below acceptable standards. I will not be returning.

I hope this feedback is taken seriously so other families do not have a similar experience.

I went to Golden Corral – Maplewood in Maplewood and it was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had.

We were seated at a dirty table with dirty seats and had to ask someone to clean it. That alone says a lot about the level of care and management. The restaurant was extremely overcrowded, yet the buffet barely had any food out. For a buffet, that’s unacceptable. Multiple sections were empty, almost all the plates were gone, and the soda was completely flat. On top of that, the floors were filthy. The entire place felt unclean and poorly maintained.

After seeing the lack of food and overall conditions, we asked for a refund. Instead of acknowledging the obvious issues, the manager/associate tried to argue that because we took a bite of the food, he could only offer half back. That’s ridiculous. We shouldn’t have had to debate for a full refund when the restaurant clearly wasn’t operating properly. We basically had to cause a scene just to get our money back.

This location is disorganized, unsanitary, and poorly run. I would strongly suggest management reevaluate how this restaurant is being handled. I will not be returning.

I went to this Golden corral 5 years ago and I cannot believe how diminished and worthless of a place it has become. When I went before people smiled that were working there and appreciated you being there spending your money for a good meal. Now the people there don’t smile. It appears they don’t even want to have a job. The plates were dirty. The pop machines were running out of soda. The glasses for the pop machines were dirty. The tables were dirty that you go to sit at the steak that I was given was nothing but fat and gristle. The shrimp which there was only one type had so much breading on it. I couldn’t even find the shrimp. There might have been a couple things that were good such as the smoked pork over by the Mexican tortillas line and their chicken. Bottom line if you want to go out to a all you can eat buffet. I guess I would head towards the Chinese buffets because this buffet certainly doesn’t cut it.

Food was good, something for everyone in our large group of 13. For me personally the pulled pork and pot roast were phenomenal. Tony was assigned to our table and incredibly helpful and kind from the start, cleaning the table and seating us as we walked in, I felt bad because I know we were a big party but he treated us with kindness, care, and respect. The person that checked us in was also incredibly helpful (Sat 1/17@430) she took the time to help us navigate a table to accommodate our large group and was very sweet but also knew what she was doing! Tony and the hostess made the experience so much better. We are from Forest Lake and were celebrating my Mom’s birthday so THANK YOU for this great family experience. Allowing us to stay and chat with each other without judgement or rushing.

Just stick with the food that can be cooked to your liking. Went here only 4x in my life and every time the food quality goes down hill. Maybe my taste buds have evolved ‍♀️. Its not a bad price for all you can eat. The service/employees are phenomenal. The are very attentive. Always making sure ur plates are cleared away and there is no food running out. Even the floors were kept up. When I went it was busy. The atmosphere is very family oriented. Everyone here came for one thing; to eat and that is the atmosphere you will get. I was so shocked this time around they kept up with the demands of the cotton candy lovers too. The food quality just wasn’t to my liking thats why it was short on stars for me.

It’s a big buffet everyone should find something they like on it. They’re

open in the morning with a breakfast buffet as well as for lunch and supper with many meat choices, vegetables, as well as soups and salads. It also has a good selection of desserts and ice cream to please the children and let’s not forget the cotton candy who doesn’t love that. It has been an enjoyable experience any of the times we have gone there . We don’t go there much because we have to drive a couple hours to get there but it’s been worth it.
