One of my favorite ramen spots in the city! I would describe the ramen served here as: clean, simple, flavorful!
Not a lot of options to pick from and also not much going on in the bowl: broth, meat, small add-ons, ramen
but… what else do you really need?
This spot hits different especially in winter (or in general when the weather is cold)
There’s also a fun story behind this spot (hint: Tsurumen 1000)

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Ordered at the counter with the assistance of a friendly cashier and then plucked down at a table to wait for the food, which came in about 5-10 minutes but in any case not soon enough! The food was delicious and a bowl costs between $15-$20. Portions aren’t the largest you’ll find but definitely sufficient.
The vibe is nice and casual. They have serve yourself water and hot water a few accouchements. They also have highchairs available in the corner if you come with a baby. Each table has plenty of room for the highchair but might not also accommodate a big stroller.
Overall, good vibe here and good food. Thank you to the staff. I look forward to coming back!

Tsurumen is one of the greatest ramen shops in the greater Boston area. Broth is always on point, the wavy noodles are my personal favorite but the thin noodles are great too. The Chashu is some of the best- flavorful and wonderfully tender. They are also incredibly efficient so the line does move relatively quickly but the place is very popular so unless you plan around a non peak time, expect a bit of a wait although you do sometimes get lucky with being able to walk right in. The only thing I would change would be that I wish they had an ajitama egg on the menu in addition to an onsen egg but everything else is perfect.

Probably the best ramen I had for a long long time, definitely my favorite in Boston so far, probably my fav across US, it’s review worthy. Perfect ramen to broth ratio, thoughtful presentation (definitely rare to see in a ramen place here,) flavor is very balanced (it could use just a little less onion, but that’s my preference, doesn’t affect the balanced taste). Yes there is only minimal service, but it’s pretty normal for a ramen place, you pay after order and before you sit down.

Went for a miso tsukemen lunch special. It was a long line for the Monday lunch hour. It was delicious. The broth was salty on its own but paired nicely with the noodle. I recommend getting the egg as an add on.

After coming back from Texas, I needed a bowl of ramen so I took my kid and went to my go-to spot, Tsuramen. Tsuramen is the best bowl of Ramen you will find around Boston. I’ve been coming here for years, and it’s always consistently delicious. If I lived closer, I would eat here once a week.
I ordered my usual, Spicy Paitan with an Onsen egg, and ordered the Shio Classic with toppings on the side for my kid.
The Spicy Paitan had a nice creamy texture, and layered depths of flavor. The balance of salt was just right, and the spice level didn’t overwhelm the broth. The noodles were bouncy with a nice chew as usual. The Char siu was thinly sliced and was really tender after soaking in the broth for a minute.
The Shio Classic has a nice clear Chicken Broth but it was very flavorful. My son couldn’t stop drinking the soup! I also appreciated the staff separating the toppings for him.
Tsuramen’s interior space is nice and simple with a few tables, and a counter space where you can watch the chef craft your ramen. The staff was great! They were friendly, and accommodating.
There are some decent spots to eat Ramen that are closer to me, but I feel that it is always worth the drive to Tsuramen.

Some of the best paitan ramen I’ve had stateside! They really do it right here. Place your order at the counter and enjoy the show of the chefs preparing each bowl to order. Service was quick and the atmosphere calls back to a ramen shop in Osaka.

One of my favorite ramen spots in Boston. Service is always quick, every single broth option is excellent, and I love their thinly sliced pork (which they are generous with). The noodles are the right amount of chewy. They have a short menu, as I find most good ramen spots do, which means they’re able to make sure every option on the menu is excellent every time.

I visited Tsurumen in Davis Square for the spicy paitan ramen, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to the hype for me. It might have just been a “wrong place, wrong time” situation, as the flavors didn’t hit the mark like I expected. While the presentation was nice, it wasn’t a standout bowl this time around.

I went in & the first thing that was said to me was “could you wait outside.” This was my 1st time visiting this restaurant. So I wait outside in the cold. They come outside to let me know I can enter & then they say “I can take your order.” This was my first time here so I was absolutely confused. I was not told the protocol of this restaurant. I was experiencing a massive panic attack triggered by what was occurring. I asked to sit down. They directed me to a seat at the bar. Then within minutes they said “are you ready to order?” Still having a panic attack still having no idea what they have. They asked for my phone to scan a QR code. I did not feel comfortable giving them my phone. I then told them that they were rude to me. They said it wasn’t their intention however the damage was done. I sat for a few more minutes until I could catch my breathe. I lost my appetite due to my negative interaction & left.
