It all began out west in the state of California. While living in Santa Ana, Leo worked as a dishwasher for two years and cook for ten years. During his time as a cook, he worked for a barbecue restaurant and catered several times to Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch and to the Soul Train Awards. He had the chance to meet both Michael Jackson and Mike Tyson. After several years in the Golden State, some family friends suggested that he should open his own Mexican restaurant. Leo moved around the country to find the perfect location to open his first restaurant. Finally in 2001, he decided to open the first Rodeo Mexican Restaurant in the southern city of Valdosta.

This place is hands down THE best mexican food we have had in the US!!! & we eat A LOT of mexican food. I had the Enchiladas Chipotle and chefs kiss all the way down to the rice & black beans which were included with the dish. If you live in this areas and have not been you need to go! If you find yourself in the area traveling, you must go here for dinner!!

Also, our server was Cesar & he was the best! Thank you for making our dinner even better with your great service! Ask to sit in his section if you go!

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants near Valdosta. I’ve visited a few times for dinner and it was crowded because it is a small restaurant. The service has been excellent every time and the waitstaff are very attentive.

The food has always been really good and I think they use garlic in some of the dishes. Which I like a lot. I can’t say what I like the best because it’s all been good and the ingredients taste fresh.

The Margaritas are strong yet perfectly mixed. Enjoy them slowly is my best advice.

Out of every Mexican restaurant I have visited in all lower 48 states, Rodeo Mexican Restaurant is in my top 10.

Such a fun little local gem! We were passing through and came in to order a quick bite. The restaurant was packed but the friendly staff welcomed us in and helped get our order in record time. They all were super helpful guiding us through the extensive menu. 5 stars on food and service. If we are ever back in the area – we will definitely stop again.

Stopped in for lunch as we were traveling. We were seated immediately and the service was prompt. Large menu with a good variety. Food was delicious. Highly recommend.

No complaints here! Food was great, margarita was good for a generic frozen Rita and the service was good. Doesn’t look like much on the outside but it’s nice. Chips and salsa were good too. I’d stop here again

Very nice wait staff clean tables waitress was very quick to refill drinks food was good. I just wish the establishment was a little bit bigger it’s a Mexican restaurant inside of what you probably used to be something similar to a waffle House or huddle House so not a lot of seating and every time I go there it’s pretty much cramped so expansion is needed.

The food was good, better than average, but not quite 5 star level. The service we got was definitely below average, and getting awfully close to poor. It was lunch time, but it was also a Thursday and the place wasn’t overwhelming crowded. The next time I’m in town I’ll probably try a different place.

This is one of my favorite places for food but. I picked up my order of Steak Fajitas at 6pm, and no tortillas. This is not the first time, or I wouldn’t mention it cause they are good people. This was on my way home from visiting wife in hospital. I don’t mind paying the prices for good food/service, but apparently they need to tell you online to supply your own tortillas. I’ll give the first two times a pass but not this time, sorry guys!
