I visited The Highlander Pub and my bill came out to $49.00. I left a $4.00 tip.
The next morning, I noticed my card had been charged an additional $7 on top of the tip I authorized. I have the receipt showing the original total.
I understand mistakes happen, but adding extra tip money without customer approval is not okay. I’m currently working to resolve this.

not sure where these people are getting the food; but was told they had very little in the way of food from the bar tender. It is a dive! Dirty inside, chairs barely hold you up, table was sticky and they had just opened so was old dirt. Didn’t even have Guiness on tap! Oh, she had one in the back but couldn’t get it hooked up. Can’t believe this place is still in business

Highlander is the perfect pub to visit when you’re in the mood for great food, strong drinks, and a night filled with unforgettable, albeit questionable, decisions.
The shepherd’s pie? Incredible. It’s rich, comforting, and clearly made by someone who knows that butter and flavor are essential. If I could, I’d love to shake the chef’s hand—or possibly knight them.
Then there was karaoke. A whirlwind of belted lyrics, enthusiastic dance moves, and a supportive crowd that cheered as if I were headlining a rock concert. Did I sound good? It’s hard to say. Did I *feel* like a legend? Absolutely.
Five stars. I would definitely come back, sing again, and even fight someone over the last Scotch egg.

Been going here since the early 90s. For the most part I love this place. It’s a dive bar that surprises you.
Only issue is people smoke literally right outside of the main door (even though there is a patio for it) so if you want to go in, you walk through the smoke.

When I pulled in the parking lot I saw the bartender Lauren saving a litter of kittens out of a burning tree. She personally built and ladder, went up herself and got them all down safely then she adopted them all!!! She’s my hero! Would recommend this place to everyone 10/10

The Highlander has its own special place in the hearts of those from North Augusta. Many remember the 3 am line of cars coming from GA at last call when SC could serve til 5, but the Highlander is still going strong. They have upped their Shepherds Pie game and have live music every Friday night. It’s a dive but that makes it great. Beers are super cheap and a game of pool is still 50 cent.

We came for dinner, having read about the shepherd’s pie. The bartender ignored my date and I, not even looking at us. Strange locals. Table had sticky residue. Not sure if the owner realizes how bad the bartender is ruining business. Left after 1 drink, and recovered my credit card held hostage. This sucks because I live nearby and wanted to like this bar. Clearly, they are only catering to a weird, shrinking crowd. Better beer selection and better prices at several other locations. What a disappointment.
