At our Madison, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Any time I come here the food is always hot and fresh but the only thing is, there’s usually always a long wait in the drive thru line. I won’t complain to bad about that though because like I said the food is always hot so that’s that. I’ve pretty much tried everything on the menu and haven’t tried anything I don’t like!!!

I’ve only visited this location three times and each time has been good. This visit in particular was fresh. The okra was fried perfectly without a lot of grease. There were only two employees in the building, but service was fairly fast. I will visit again, but not too often. Not the type of food that you eat often.

My orders are always take-out. The food is good, but it seems to take anywhere from 30 – 45 minutes from placing my order to getting to the drive- thru window. Very seldom does it take less than 15 minutes to pick up a food order. What’s the problem?

FYI: These pictures were taken around 2:45 which is the slow time for this location. The purpose of the photographs was to provide evidence to my comments. So… The food was fine i.e. my fish was hot and my cole slaw was cold. The guy who took my order was courteous. But the dining room looks very tired. The motif looks like it’s out of the 80’s and needs a serious restoration. It didn’t stop me from eating but it was a little depressing. Still, as I said, the food was fine and the staff was nice. Check them out and decide for yourself!

They neverrrrrr have anything ready!!!! I’m the ONLY CAR IN THE DRIVE THRU LINE & it always take 15-20 minutes for my food which is crazy. They will have you late for work just tryna get some quick & fast. & the only thing I ordered was a $5.99 fish and fry deal

You have to finish eating as soon as your order is ready. If you have leftovers to the next day or after few hours, it will taste like eating a piece of rubber. Other than that, service is good, people are good and the orders are ready on time.

Went for a quick lunch run to this Captain D’s location and spent 15-20 minutes in the drive-thru between ordering, paying, and receiving our food. Perhaps it was a fluke, but I would not recommend going if you’re on a time constraint.
They were out of popcorn shrimp, chicken tenders, and hush puppies, which were the first and second meals I tried to order. Ended up with the 15pc butterfly shrimp meal; the shrimp weren’t bad. They offered me a breadstick because they were out of hush puppies, but I never received it. The side of fries were okay but not crispy, the steamed broccoli met expectations.

The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. I know it’s just fish, but the Captain has it rockin here. I also know that there will be mixed reviews, probably based on staffing and days of the week, but my experience was very good tonight. I’d go there again…maybe tonight

I went through drive thru on my lunch break. I ordered and the food came out stale, tasteless, hard not like the Captain Ds a year ago. Needs managers that work as a manager. I will try back sometime next year. Pure laziness is everywhere nowadays

Have been going to this Captain D’s location every day for this past week for lunch and sometimes dinner. Great tasting lobster rolls and fish. Always tastes like it was just freshly prepared, everything from the main entrees to the side items. This restaurant gets a steady flow of drive-through customers but there’s never a long line and ling wait like some others. Staff is always courteous, friendly, and seem experienced and never flustered when they’re hustling to get orders out on time. I’m impressed. I will def be going back.
