Haven’t even finished my meal yet and I felt compelled to leave a review! Everything I tried was delicious! Best chips and salsa, coconut margarita is amazing and the enchiladas verdes were perfect. Will be visiting here again during my travels.

Went here because the reviews were high. Went there on a Friday afternoon and it was pretty empty. Chips were a bit stale and salsa were in pretty small container. Ordered birria tacos and they were ok. Large enough to fill me up but the tortillas were stale like the chips. Wife said the carne asada fries were good. Might’ve Went there on an off day but it doesn’t rate the stars that it currently has.

Food was average and what you would expect from a Mexican food establishment. Service was excellent! The owner and wait staff were very accommodating and responded immediately to needs or questions. The restaurant is extremely clean and well maintained. Music was a little loud even for lunch time. If you are in the mood for a decent meal and craving Mexican, this is a good place to try. Nothing to “wow’ about, but hearty food in a clean restaurant.

They have such horrendous service. I really truly like their food so much, but it doesn’t make sense to go here for Mexican food anymore. If I order online, I get there about 15-20mins late, and still have to wait another 15-20 mins. I asked the server if their door dash doesn’t work or something? Cause this happens regularly. She didn’t speak English. And instead of getting someone who did, she walked away and helped one of the 3 tables seated in the restaurant. The food is not worth driving for, but the service I will highly highly HIGHLY recommend that you Find a place closer to your house with better service ♀️ do not recommend, do not go, you’re gonna be upset. I’d recommend Chipotle over Guapos now.

The drink was delicious, I had the Bahama Mama and chicken fajitas and both were amazing (the food was seasoned well). My date had the fish tacos. There was a language barrier with our waitress and the wings weren’t good I had to have them cooked more…that’s the reason for the low score.

Love coming here, perfect for family gatherings. Different, they have things on the menu you don’t see elsewhere, my favorite is the seafood tower they make it how I like it just right delicious and for dessert tress leches cake it was delicious I recommend it My son had the tacos De lengua he loved them. Service is great too. Came here last night for karaoke it was fun. Seeing people sing was entertaining my 7-year-old was braver enough to get up stage and sing and loved it ♥️

HORRIBLEEEE!!! Where the heck did Guapo go! Cause I HATEEEE Gordo’s. Customer service is TRASH!! They never understand what we are asking for at all, we left due to getting it wrong and being confused every time we asked for something. Prices are OUTRAGEOUS!!!! 5.99 for ONE TACO!!!!! Guapo’s was the best taco place in Newport News and Gordo’s is completely ruining it! I’ve been going there for YEARRSSSSSS!!! They will not see not another dollar from me. Omg I can’t stress how much I’m am so mad at the new management. I wouldn’t even do anymore especially to see the prices before and see what they are now with horrible service! Forget it!

absolutely deceitful. I order a Coke and a birria burrito off the menu, $3.25 and $15.99. Fine that’s OK. Then she brings me the bill which says the Coke is 599 and the burrito is 1999 so I show her the Coke inthe drinks menu and she says no that’s the small Coke this is the big Coke. Then I tell her the burrito is $15.99 in the menu and she brings a completely different menu to me where the birria burrito is $$19.99. The last time I went to this place they told me the tacos were two dollars apiece on taco Tuesday and then when I get the bill they’re charging me like 450 a taco and I say I thought these were 250 apiece on Tuesday, and they say no that’s a different taco. All of this is very unfortunate because the food is actually very good but they’re very disingenuous and the way they let you know the cost of anything. I absolutely cannot tolerate deceit or pettiness, oh and the homemade salsa that came out was rancid and I had to return it for fresher salsa.
