I stumbled onto this restaurant via Google while visiting a campsite in the area.
I am so glad I tried this place – I did not expect to find this gem in small town South Carolina! What a treat!
Everything about my visit was divine. This place is so clean and cared for and there’s a family vibe present, peace and ease are here too.
The food tastes like LOVE. I can’t wait to come back and try other menu options!

I stopped at Smak for dinner while traveling along I-85 near the SC-NC border. I had the lamb pot roast with vegetables. It was delicious! I also had a slice of their cherry cake for dessert. It wasn’t a traditional cake, but was way better. The cherries were individually wrapped in phyllo dough, stacked with whipped cream as glue, then the stack covered with more phyllo and baked. My slice was then drizzled with chocolate sauce. What a decadent treat! Very reasonably priced, too! I thoroughly recommend Smak.

We were in the Cowpens area and were hungry, so looked up what was around and we came here! Glad we did, the food was very good. I wanted something other than our usuals and the pictures did not disappoint.
My husband picked a meal with the chicken kababs. The chicken had great flavor and well cooked. Everything else on his plate was good too. I picked a salad and 2 hot dishes. The Olivie salad is similar to a mix of egg and potato salad with some extras. I have always been a fan of stuffed grape leaves but have not had them with a meat filling before, which is what the Dolma Rolls have. They are delicious! The cabbage rolls were also very good.
Of course we couldn’t resist trying the Crepe Chocolate Cake too and are so happy we did- it’s a must try!

Hidden gem right off the highway. Absolutely some of the best Mediterranean I’ve had in a while. Full servings, phenomenal taste, and terrific atmosphere. You have to try this place!

The restaurant is odd but the lamb pot roast i had was delicious meat was very tender. I wish they had bread or something during the wait time. Over all great place.

We are locals and have been wanting to try this place for sometime now. The food and service are both excellent and exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend the chicken kebabs and carrot salad but everything we tried was delicious.

Absolutely amazing food and a great value. The staff was very friendly. It’s a very laid back atmosphere. My only complaint is that I was too full to even consider a dessert. It was all SO GOOD!!!!!!

WOW! My wife and I were visiting our daughter and Googled restaurants near me with high reviews and Smak came up. When we arrived, there were not many patrons and we almost left before we even went in. What a mistake that would have been. Once inside we were graciously greeted and seated. We asked what are a few favorites and we went with that. I believe its pilaf, chicken and potatoes that I ordered and my wife ordered the roasted potatoes, beef and beets. We also ordered the lamb stew. When it came out the portions were large and presented beautifully. It was one of the BEST meals we’ve both had in a long time. We finished with desert bhaklava, tiramisu and honey cake. We are not desert people but everything was so delicious, imagine dessert?!? It was also amazing. Everything was made inhouse. Fresh and delicious. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
