I used to order from them on DoorDash, so when I saw this flyer about their grand opening, we had to try it in person and wow, the food was incredible! I ordered 3 quesabirria tacos and 3 chicken tacos, which came with rice and beans, and everything was hot, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The quesabirria tacos were crispy and cheesy with a rich broth for dipping.
My husband ordered the Nachos Deluxe, which were loaded and delicious. The portions were generous, the prices very reasonable, and the restaurant itself is clean, bright, and family-friendly. We shared our meal with two Pacificos and left full and happy. The owner even came out and spoke with us & asked how our meal was going.
If you’re anywhere near Lawrenceville, you need to check out Don Gus Tacos. Amazing food, great service, and such a welcoming atmosphere. This is our new go-to taco spot!
Mannnnnn. I usually go to Don Pedro for my burrito and tacos but this might take it’s spot. That carne asada was juicy!!!!!
The street tacos were so good. Nice and crisp street taco size tortillas. Onion and cilantro (could be toned down a bit with amount) added with the red sauce from the sauce corner is a ridiculous combo. An amazing combo.
The burrito?!?!? Bruhhhhhh. No beans and no queso make this an (almost) unbeatable burrito. Again, combine it with the red sauce and you’re good.
I wish they added a little side of chips with the burrito. This would definitely be my new go to spot. Good size cup for the drink. The molcajete sauce at the counter is okay….. It’s a little too watery for me and it’s missing just a little bit of flavor.
The cashier is always very friendly, and someone usually brings us chips and salsa, which is a nice touch. The salsa is spicy but so delicious — I even had to buy a small cup to take home. Their aguas frescas are good, and they also offer other soft drinks, including Coca-Cola in glass bottles.
I’d recommend this place to anyone. It’s a bit of a hidden gem since it’s next to a gas station, but once you find it, you’ll know exactly where to go every time you want to come back. The atmosphere is nice — family-style, relaxed, and the music is always a great choice. This recent time I came we spent about $60 for three people. Not bad! Love it!
