We walked in without a reservation and waited about 15–20 minutes. Seeing so many local families dining with their kids really made this place feel like a neighborhood favorite and a true local gem.
Our kids shared enchiladas, and this was their first time trying them. I was a bit worried at first because they can be pretty picky eaters and don’t always like new or unfamiliar flavors. To my surprise, they really enjoyed the enchiladas and finished their plates happily.
My fish tacos were excellent – fresh, flavorful, and well balanced. The salad bowl with the crispy shell was also delicious and added a great crunch.
Overall, it was a great dining experience.
Love the atmosphere, great location and LOTS of margarita flavors!
This was the second time my husband and I have been here. The first time, terrible food and drinks. The margaritas were all mixer, and poor quality. However, for nostalgia we went back. It was worse than we remembered. We both have had authentic Mexican food, and this is nowhere close. The burro cali I had was bland, and the rice undercooked. The cheese sauce that came with it was runny with no flavor. No sides, and a small burrito, for $17! My husband got the torta, $19. The one star for food is for the fries. The fries were a good crisp. The sandwich meat did not have any seasoning, and the sandwich was not quality freshness. We were hungry, and yet chose not to finish our meals. For the amount of money spent on food, way under par and small portions.
The waitress was also the bartender, who seemed stretched thin, even though there appeared to be staffing. She did try to make some conversation with us, which I can appreciate.
Reviews, both positive and negative, are for criticism or giving other patrons generalized ideas, and how it is received by the owners should reflect professionalism.
We will stick to our regular spot and not be returning.
The menu covers all the bases of the tried and trusted dishes as well as several more unique plates you don’t normally see elsewhere.
A true hidden gem, LunaZul is well worth the visit when the mood for good Mexican hits.
