I visited Chung Ki Wa Korean BBQ thinking it was the kind of place where you grill samgyeopsal (pork belly) right at the table. All the Korean BBQ dishes here come fully cooked from the kitchen. Not a bad thing. Just something I wish I’d known beforehand so others don’t get confused like I did.

We arrived about 30 minutes before closing after a long drive, and I felt a little guilty walking in so late. But the staff welcomed us warmly and didn’t make us feel rushed at all. We needed extra time to look through the menu once we realized we couldn’t grill at the table, and they patiently waited while we decided. Their kindness honestly put our family in a good mood.

We ordered the bossam set and the seafood pancake. The food quality was about what you’d expect from a typical Korean restaurant. Overall, it’s a place worth trying at least once, especially for the friendly service.

This was me and my sisters first time here and the food was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive. The seafood pancake was my favorite. I have had a few at other restaurants but this one is by far the best. Both of our main dishes tasted fresh and well marinated. I will be coming back!

I’ve been looking for Soy Marinated Crab in metro ATL, I finally found the best spot. Also, their soup and stews are very comforting, perfect for cold weather. Lots of choices on the menu, very authentic Korean flavor!

Seafood pancake was large and tasty. Rest of what I ordered didn’t meet my expectation. Marinated raw crab was super salty and beef dish were very dry and not flavorful. The beef dish had way too many sprouts to make it look appealing.

Overall good. The portion is huge. We five ordered the beef short ribs, pork belly, a pancake and two soups which were too much for us. We packed the leftover home.
I would recommend the pork one, very tender. The beef short ribs are mild spicy and sweet. I would recommend the soups, sundae or beef ribs. It would be a good choice for large parties. The space is somehow tight. Parking is free.

Absolutely blown away by the authenticity here! If you’ve been hunting for rich, flavorful Korean stews with real depth (not the watery kind), this is the spot. I ordered the Galbijjim and it was incredible — came with six tender, fall-off-the-bone short ribs and a generous topping of soybean sprouts.

We also got the sundae (Korean blood sausage). btw they serve seasonal side dishes, and the spicy marinated crab was one of my favorite — fresh and packed with umami. Definitely coming back! they have semi- private room and tons of parking space.

Incredibly tasty beef short ribs! We wished we could try more, but we couldn’t eat another bite. The sides were excellent too, and the staff were very kind. Definitely a must-try in Atlanta!

This is the spot you go to for those deliciously rare Korean dishes that you can’t find anywhere else. They have some famous dishes, so I made sure to share some of them in this reel with you.

청기와 Chun Ki Wa = Blue Tile is the name of this Korean BBQ restaurant. Named after the many culturally significant blue tile roofs that symbolize wealth and prosperity.

I would call it more of a family style restaurant (even though they label themselves as BBQ) because most of their famous dishes are jungol braised and shared style.

1 소등갈비찜 Famous Braised Ribs – The most tender and flavorful, falling off the bone, ribs you will ever have. Tons of veg and mouthwatering soup underneath. Enough for a crowd and fun to eat.
2 순대 Soondae – Blood sausage sampler platter included liver and pig ear with whitebait dipping sauce and spicy salt.
3 게장 Raw Marinated Crab – This was the best spicy version of this dish that I’ve had so far. It used to be a rare dish, but now you can find it at restaurants in the area, and even at Hmart. The best part is that this crab is included complimentary as a banchan!
4 해물전 Seafood Pancake – Pretty standard
5 김치 콩비지 찌개 Pureed Tofu Stew – This is my favorite version of kimchi tofu soup these days because you get the perfect bite every time.
