Nice atmosphere with a friendly staff. Just with they would have been more attentive to us and got drinks a bit quicker. I’m not a fan of underdressed waitresses and bartenders either. Cover up a bit and be classy. Our food was good but the Mac and cheese bites weren’t worth the money. Not enough of them and needed to be seasoned more. Not worth $10. The cheesesteak was overpriced too and the cheese had a weird texture to it. Wasn’t creamery but like chalky or floury texture. Maybe the sandwich sat for a bit before serving? I don’t know. All in all it was descent at best. Maybe a better score if the prices reflected the food quality.

Morris IL is the halfway point for family to meet up between Des Moines IA & Toledo OH. Coming from Toledo my daughter & I got there an hour earlier so we stopped to eat. The patrons & staff were so friendly & welcoming I felt like I was in an episode of Cheers. The food is good & service is phenomenal. I am happy we happened upon this place today & will return if we ever need to stop & eat when meeting up with family.

I have been here a handful of times. The food has always been great. This time I had a perfectly cooked cheeseburger and seasoned fries. Could only eat half the burger. The bar is fun and has very good service

Located in Morris Illinois downtown area. This looks like the place to be when big events happen like car shows or concerts, or just when you want a good drink, and some good food. Through the back door of the restaurant, you could see a garage door that can open and tons of seating and even a stage for bands. The downtown area is beautiful at night, and very clean for different types of stores.

I lived at the Carson House 50 years ago. My parents managed it in the early 70’s. I have a newspaper article I’d like to share with you. It talks about the history of the location. Can I send the actual article to you? A little piece of history you can frame and hang in the wall.

Cream of turkey and wild rice soup was decent. I was super excited by the chicken crackling (pictured). They were hot and fresh, but dredged in some sort of breading. The bartender did a great job of customer service both inside and outside while also running food. Definitely short-staffed.

Just moved to the area and thought we would try a local place to eat. Servers were nice here and the food was great as well. I highly recommend the onion rings!! Stop in on Wednesdays for trivia night. Enjoyed the night there!!
