Pak Soii is inspired by the term Pak Soi—a memory from my hometown in Thailand, where no matter when you’re hungry, you just walk out to the mouth of the alley, and you’ll always find a variety of delicious food waiting for you. It’s the small shops with the taste of street vendors, the laughter of people, and the warm, familiar atmosphere.
I wanted to bring that feeling to life by creating my own Izakaya—a place where Asian street food culture and Japanese influence blend naturally. The food here combines the bold, vibrant flavors of Asia with the delicate, umami-rich elements of Japanese cuisine, making every dish uniquely special.

Such an exciting new addition to Del Ray! This cozy, intimate sushi spot may be small, but it delivers big on quality and warmth. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, perfect for both casual dinners and special nights out.
My absolute favorites were the Maguro Trio and Nan’s Roll, both were outstanding. The tuna in the Maguro Trio was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and Nan’s Roll was perfectly balanced with great texture and presentation. You can truly taste the high quality of the fish in every bite.
Overall, this is a very promising new restaurant with excellent à la carte options, top-tier fish quality, and a warm, inviting vibe. Definitely a must-try if you’re in the Del Ray area!

I tried the hand rolls at this restaurant and they were excellent. The seaweed was crisp, the rice was perfectly seasoned, and the fillings were incredibly fresh. Each hand roll was packed with flavor—especially the salmon and spicy tuna, which had a great texture and tasted really clean.
The staff were friendly and quick, and the atmosphere made the experience even better. Everything was served fresh, and you could tell the ingredients were high quality.
Overall, it’s a great spot for anyone who loves freshly made hand rolls. I’d definitely come back for more!

This place is so, so good! My husband and I got the shishito peppers, truffle fries, Royal California roll, and Bara Chirashi. Everything tasted amazing, and we enjoyed the presentation, service, and overall ambiance. The interior is smaller but well-designed and reminded me of dining out during my time living in Japan. Our one gripe was we wish there were more truffle fries.
Planning consideration if you’re going on a Saturday: We went at 5 PM and it was empty, but by the time we left around 6:30 it was almost completely packed.

I recently dined at Pak Soii on a trip to Alexandria and had nothing short of an excellent experience. The service was great, the drink options were unique, and had variety for every pallet.
I especially liked the details to cleanliness with the hand washing cloth and the pull off plastic with the hand rolls.
The food is flavorful and fresh. Honestly, wish I could’ve gone more than once on my trip.

I feel bad having to write this review for a new restaurant that we were excited about, but we were very disappointed with our take-out order. We spent $88 on 7 different items thinking we’d get try everything and the total amount (pictured) was no more than a few bites. The meat sticks were bite sized, the sushi rolls were like sample sizes, and the salad was served in a paper ice cream cup. Honestly this was the worst meal we’ve had in this neighborhood in our 3 years here but I hope they get things figured out. Again, I hate to leave this review but the photos speak for themselves.
