Hit the McMenamins Pub, McMinnville, Oregon on a recent visit and had a Capt. Neon Burger with tots and a Dirty Shirley.
The Capt. Neon Burger shows up looking unapologetically hearty. A soft, lightly toasted bun cradles a thick, juicy beef patty cooked to a satisfying char on the outside while staying tender inside. Crisp lettuce and fresh red onion add crunch and bite, while the bacon brings smoky richness that anchors the whole stack. It’s a straightforward burger done confidently…no gimmicks, just solid execution. The toothpick through the top is a small detail, but it reinforces that classic pub-burger presentation.
The tater tots on the side are exactly what you want them to be: golden, crunchy on the outside, fluffy inside, and clearly fried with care. Dunked into the generous pool of ketchup, they’re nostalgic in the best way

The Dirty Shirley is pure throwback fun with a grown-up twist. Served ice-cold in a tall glass, it’s fizzy, lightly sweet, and refreshingly tart. Pretty good food. Especially the truffle fries and garlic aeoli(sp?) dip. The bread in the chicken sandwich was a bit mushy due to too much sauce, but still tasted good.

$22 for iceberg lettuce and a few chunks of fatty overcooked steak. The restaurant did not set the server up for success so the service was slow and had errors. They were out of many menu items. Will not be back.

Went to dinner and ate on the rooftop. My husband and I celebrate every year since he proposed there 5 years ago.
This year we went and we both got burgers that were extremely rare. In the past we have always been asked how we prefer it to be cooked. For 5 years and we go a couple times a year.
This year. Was never asked and our burgers were very rare and tasted like bile. Husbands was cooked more than mine. Ended up not eating because of how bad it tasted. Forced to pay for the burger and not have it fixed.
This is beyond unacceptable and we have always had great experiences but Brian gave us a very poor one.

Typical McMenamins. Had the crab Mac n cheese. Short on flavor. I did not care for the crushed breadcrumbs on top. Their Drop of Love V-day take on a lemon drop was delicious. But also $15. Two were 1/3 of the bill.

Really need more waitstaff. Our waitress delivered drinks and took the food order then disappeared.. ordered the Elk burger medium rare. It came well done. Tried to get the waitress to take it back. Every one else finished before we saw her again. Went to the roof top bar for drinks. Better service, limited selection of beer, wine and liquor.
