As we made our way back to Great Wolf Lodge we decided to treat ourselves to some smoothies and milk shakes. The staff there were very friendly and polite.I even tried their lamb gyro and it tasted great.I made friends with some local seniors and one of them just happened to be from NY,and we chatted a little❤️.So spoil yourself a little, and treat yourself to some ice cream at Big Star Drive-in.Live a little

Amazing little treasure. Burgers and fries and a chocolate shake…so good. yum yum yum. My only criticism was that my Big Star Burgers bacon was a bit tough (probably pre-prepared).

We passed The Big Star Drive-In on our way back to NY and were appealed by its old fashioned decor. It was found in 1949 and has been amazingly serving the neighborhood for over 75 years.
They serve all the satisfying food. We shared Butter Burger with lettuce & tomato, Beef Gyro and Fried Zucchini. The portion was great with reasonable price. It’s overall decent and our favorite was the juicy patty.

Long time big star lover but this visit was beyond disappointing. My daughter and I both got a small coffee ice cream and after biting off the tops the entire thing was hollow, not even a full round scoop. Cone was stale and dry too. We usually rave about big star but $14 for 4 small ice creams that look like this was a rip off.

I believe the few poor reviews for this place must have been given by people who had different items than I ordered. Big Star Drive-In in Stroudsburg may be known for it’s sweet treats, but today we decided to have a nice lunch on the picnic benches with some beautiful weather.
We ordered the Butter Burger, the Gyro, and the fried pierogis. First things first, the Pierogis were simply deep fried and served. This is not to say they were bad, but they were just standard so I will choose to spend my time talking about the items that were hit with some love.
The Butter Burger was quite good. Lots of buttery flavor, a quality beef patty, and some perfectly sautéed onions topped in melted cheese. What’s not to love? The roll was even better than I would have expected from your typical “drive-in” style spot. I would absolutely order this again without question.
The Gyro was solid as well. The Tzatziki sauce was flavorful and abundant, the pita was lightly toasted but still nice and soft, plenty of meat and toppings. If I had to say one thing negatively, I would have preferred a smaller chop on the tomatoes. This size made it hard to eat efficiently. I wouldn’t put this up against some of the Mediterranean style spots in town (there are a couple very good ones) but I was definitely happy with the purchase.
The cost was pretty standard for what we got and we left happy. Big Star Drive-In – Stroudsburg, PA – Didn’t Suck!

A Stroudsburg icon – great icream and shakes with walk-in ordering and a handful of parking spaces right off the main road. Definitely gets busy in the summer and on holiday weekends. Basic fast food options as well but we always just go for the ice cream. I love the dipped waffle cone.
