This restaurant has potential, and this review is not intended to discourage people from going here. My hope is that management will take it as constructive feedback to improve the business. Our family felt the food was on par with other BBQ restaurants. The staff was polite, but mostly young, inexperienced/poorly trained, and inattentive. Customers waited over 20 minutes before even seeing a staff member. The first time because they were all standing in the back around a broken fryer. Things happen, but 3 of the 4 visible staff members (which I assume they’re working with low staff like many other businesses) were just watching while customers waited to be greeted. The second time, one of young ladies was sitting on the floor behind the register playing on her phone, completely unaware that that were customers in line waiting for her or that there were items by the drink fountain (ie straws) that needed restocked. As we left, we heard comments about certain food items running low (further limiting the menu after the broken fryer). I would come back, as long as we’re not in any rush. I think improvements in management and staff education on professionalism would go a long way! We live nearby and would love to see this place succeed!

Went inside to place order and it took 10 minutes for the workers to acknowledge me. I gave them some grace because I understand this is their grand opening. Manager walked by a few times and said nothing. Ordered my daughter’s food, but they were out of almost everything on their menu so we got her ribs and a bag of chips. While waiting a gentleman came in to return his order. He received a pulled pork sandwich with no meat on it. I over heard the workers joking about it before he came back to the store. I don’t like to give negative reviews but here is the truth. Don’t try this restaurant until they have been up and running for a while. As far as Dickeys as a chain I have always liked them. But the store in Brownsburg deserves 0 stars. Most menu items are unavailable.

It was a bit of a wait due to the staffing shortage that everyone is experiencing. It was worth being patient and waiting. The kids behind the counter were awesome and I can’t say enough about how well they tried and kept their composure while being blasted by people who were not so patient. Hats off to them. The food was great!!!! It will be great when things are back to normal and you can get in and out. Really can’t say enough about the awesome staff. Very caring, good attention to detail and trying their best to do a good job….and succeeding at it.

I waited in line for well over 30 minutes. I ordered their anniversary special. The sandwich was small as was the potato salad side. Thought I was suppose to get a brownie with it. I didn’t. There was no bbq sauce on the pulled pork. I wrongly supposed there was going to be. Service was extremely slow, servers were very unsure of themselves and thus not friendly at all. They don’t take cash. So my first time there was way underwhelming. Having said that, even though I had a 1 experience, I will give them another chance. I get the fact that they probably are fortunate in this culture to have hired anyone. So I really can’t blame new owners at this point. They deserve another chance, or two or three. I pray they make it.

It seems like it has taken awhile for this place to get off the ground. Understandable for a place that tried to open during a pandemic. We had a great experience and meal today. The Brisket Burnt Ends were great, as was the creamed spinach. We will be making this a regular stop in our restaurant rotation.

First time visit since they opened. I ordered 2 item meal. Pulled pork and beef brisket had no BBQ flavor or seasoning whatsoever. BBQ beans tasted like they were right out of a can. Potato salad was a disappointment. Found a long black hair in my pulled pork halfway through my dinner. This restaurant just needs to shut down! They are rarely open for business and when they are they serve mediocre food.

The food looks great and I’ve been trying to actually try the food…but always some issue. First time they were closing no problem I get it. The next time order was lost didn’t get to trying it. Third time I used online ordering said first order time was 2:45 pm over an hour from the time I ordered. I thought ok weird but ok. Then when it came time for my order to be ready I called and they had a voicemail stating they were closed!! I called corporate and they didn’t even know that the restaurant was closed!! Took two days for my refund when I shouldn’t have even had to ask for one if they were handling the business correctly. So can’t rate the food but the business itself is poorly managed and I won’t be trying again I’ll drive 20 min for city barbecue before I attempt to eat here again.

After multiple attempts to order food online from this location over the past few weeks (online ordering was closed many of the times I tried, once it actually closed while I was entering an order), I was finally able to try Dickeys. We’ve been super hopeful that it would be good as it’s a bit of a drive for us to go to our usual BBQ spot. Having good BBQ closer to home would be awesome.
I hit submit on the order at 6:30 and the site said it wouldn’t be ready until 7:15, puzzling since I would have figured all food is pre-made and just dished out. Then it let me open an order tracker, which showed all the steps checked off already including it having been handed to me – which again, I was still at home and had just hit submit. I don’t think that function is working yet. It’s a new store, so tech problems probably are a thing. When I arrived, it was not clear where to go for pickup orders – there’s a window for this purpose down the hallway to the right when you first enter. Probably could use a sign with an arrow if that’s what they want you to do.
Everything to this point, I figure could be problems with opening and getting everything figured out with a new restaurant.
I arrived at 6:45 to pickup. Headed straight home, but the food was already cold – never a problem from our usual BBQ place, farther away from home. We reheated it. The food was all edible but in general all the meat and sides were pretty bland. The meats were pretty dry and it didn’t have that delicious smoked flavor that good BBQ has. Both my kids LOVE BBQ brisket – they both tried it and wouldn’t eat any more past the first bite. As an adult eating it, here’s the thing – it’s perfectly adequate food, but it either needs to be half the cost (to reflect the quality compared to other BBQ joints) or the food quality needs some serious help. I’ve never been to another Dickeys, so it is unclear to me if everything is “on recipe”.
I will likely not be returning – I’ll keep driving the additional distance to the City BBQ in Avon, where I can get much better BBQ for essentially the same price. Seeing some other reviews, they definitely seem to be having problems. I’m curious if the food I got was wrong (incorrectly prepared, missing spices or something) and Dickey’s might normally be better, but I’m not really willing to risk it when I have a known better option.

Make sure they are open before you order… placed an online order on a Saturday evening. Google said it was open, the website allowed me to order even with “Saturday specials”, took my credit card info and turns out they were closed. Didn’t find out until 40 minutes later when we went to pick up our food. Quite the disappointment for our hungry group of 7. Will try again in the future and re-review.

My husband and I ordered and dined in. Service was great. Food was great. What more could you ask for? People will always find something to complain about. Highly recommend the marinated chicken and baked potato casserole! Give Dickey’s a shot if you’ve been thinking about it.
