Went here after a long hike in the woods and just wow! We were seated quickly, and the food came out fast, even on a busy Friday night. The portions were amazing, and so was the quality of food. Omgod, yum!!!! I live in FL, and this is the best Mexican food place I’ve ever been to. Really wish we had one by us. The only negative thing I have to say is they charged me .99 for take out. It’s weird but not worth a 4 star rating because everything was phenomenal. My server was Jesus, and he was great also.

Get a pastor filled burrito with fresh not pickled (though pickled is an option if that’s your thing) grilled jalapeños. It’s phenomenal! They actually season the jalapeños too which is a first amongst places I’ve been able to order grilled jalapeños!

It’s the locals #1 spot to enjoy great food and drinks. Friendly staff and management, treat regulars like family, excellent service. Clean restaurant, good atmosphere. You can’t go wrong if you like good margaritas and Mexican food. Great place to celebrate a birthday with staff and friends. Recommend the Camino Dip and the Casero chunky Guacamole to start. Shrimp soup is a must if your in the mood for soup with a slight kick to warm you up. Thankful for good Mexican food on Signal Mountain. 5 stars. We’ll be back. Probably tomorrow….just kidding…but seriously, probably tomorrow. See you there.

Hidden gem, the food here was so good and our waiter Luis was superb. Huge portions for the price and the standout was the al pastor. The drinks were also fantastic and the dessert was absolutely delicious!

This is a great Mexican food restaurant on top of Signal Mountain, let’s face it. It’s one of the only places to eat on Signal Mountain. Mountain. However, it is still good and has a huge menu and service with nice people. Food always comes out fast and there’s plenty of it.

I have not been on Signal Mountain in decades. So, most everything is new to me. My first impression of El Metate is good. They seated me immediately and a waitress was at my table almost instantly. I ordered a shredded chicken Taco salad from the lunch menu. It was literally on my table in less than 2 minutes! The food was good and tomatoes were ripe. The table and utensils were spotless.
