This place is 5 stars all the way. We really enjoyed after hiking the mountains in Utah. The staff, the food, the atmosphere is all wonderful. The casino is high energy and this restaurant was well worth it. I really had fun and enjoyed Memorial Day Weekend 2024 and this restaurant was a wonderful part of that. Check them out! Love from Atlanta, GA.

From soft lighting to their must-have lobster bisque, our experience was great. Our server was attentive & thoughtfully predicted our needs. The Caesar salad was good, though the strong Dijon flavor was an adjustment. The steak & seafood diablo were delicious. The sweet potato was also surprisingly tasty with their lightly sweet cinnamon butter. Both of us were too full to finish. No notes. I’ll definitely be back to try the cherries jubilee.

First time at this restaurant. I found the hostess to be rude. The one we had shouldn’t be the first person to greet you with that personality. Their seating has a lot to be desired. Their tables are way too close to each other. I was cold and had to keep my jacket on as did the others in my party. On the other hand our waiter was very good. The food was great. It is very expensive. Not sure I would go back.

I kept hearing ads about old Vegas in the Casablanca casino so we stopped on the way back from a ski trip and had dinner at Katherines. 60 for a 16 oz ribeye. It was excellent and I prefer rare which to me is the true test. They modified my Manhatten with St. Germane instead of sweet vermouth at no additional cost and a full martini glass to boot. The service was great. The bread… Dinner rolls and some other focaccia you’d get in the bread aisle at the local grocery… Do better you’re a steak house! Lighted menus so perfect for those of at a certain age. Lighting? Again you’re a steak house. Nobody looks good under 5000 kelvin light except a patient on an operating table. Incandent or very warm would be ideal. We did enjoy the dinner and would eat there again

This 5 star review is for Carlos (Waiter) – not the food. He has a great personality and was so fun to interact with throughout our meal. Friendly, upbeat, and genuinely engaging, he made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down.

His positive attitude and sense of humor really stood out and added to the overall atmosphere of the restaurant!

As for the food – 3 Stars – it didn’t quite meet expectations. I ordered my steak medium, and unfortunately it was delivered rare and had to be sent back. The steak was acceptable once remade, but nothing stood out enough to make it memorable. The dinner rolls were also disappointing and looked like something you’d buy pre-packaged at a grocery store, which was unexpected for a steakhouse.

There’s definitely room for improvement, especially when it comes to getting temperatures right and elevating the overall food quality.

This used to be my favorite steakhouse (I’ve been to ~a hundred around the country). Casablanca seems hellbent on ruining everything and now Katherine’s is another victim.

1 – Months ago you could get an 8oz filet with a lobster tail for $110 ($45+65). Now it’s labeled as “Market Price” and came in at $149. Insane.

2 – Bread service was an amazing assortment of delicious breads. Now? Boring flavorless dry crumbly dinner rolls.

3 – The last two times I had the filet (medium rare) it was a dry and gritty texture which in my opinion suggests it’s either old or their steaks are being frozen/thawed, neither of which is acceptable for a good steakhouse.

4 – They removed the Crab Oscar enhancement. I’ve never been to a nice steakhouse that doesn’t have a Crab Oscar. Ever. If you want it you need to pay for their new “Filet Oscar” for $80. My guess is whoever was tasked with cutting corners thought “Gee, no one will notice if we only offer an Oscar on our smallest cut! Cha-ching!”

5 – The sides are suspiciously still $9. Then they arrive at the table and you find out why. The mashed potatoes that used to be able to serve 3+ people with leftovers now looks like a personal side for 1, maybe 2 people. You can get a 10lb bag of russets for like what, $5? And you’re skimping on mashed potatoes? Really? I have second hand embarrassment for Katherine’s at this point.

6 – No corn/creamed corn side anymore. Again, what steakhouse in their right mind doesn’t have this?

7 – Their best dessert was the “Molten chocolate lava cake”. False advertising now. There’s nothing “Molten” or “Lava” about it. It used to be gooey dark chocolate salty/sweet deliciousness. Now it’s like the most worthless tiny little solid brownie cake thing that honestly tastes like they pulled it out of the Wal-Mart frozen desserts section.

Anyway, congrats on the new changes. I won’t be back. And in my opinion with what seems like ultra-tight slots that never pay anymore, I’ll gleefully say goodbye to “Legend” status next year, too.

This is one of our favorite restaurants and experiences. We try to head up to the Casablanca and go to Katherine‘s at least twice a year. Coming from Henderson it’s about an hour and a half drive. The rooms are clean and not too expensive and Katherine’s is outstanding. Highly recommend the stake Diane, the jumbo lump crab cocktail, the lobster bisque, French onion soup, the Caesar salad is to die for, their fresh seafood is amazing and I don’t think we’ve ever had anything that we haven’t loved. including the desserts and cocktails for three of us with tip was just under $250 and worth every penny. I didn’t get a chance to take pictures of our meals, but everything is truly outstanding.

Our FAVORITE fine dining experience! Steak, salmon, soups, and shrimp are all exquisite. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the service is great. Lobster bisque is my favorite (though it is VERY rich!), and the shrimp cocktail is huge. Absolutely 5/5!

So very disappointed in the new ownership. Katherines had been our go to for years for fine dining and fantastic food. We literally came there’s for every anniversary and birthday from Southern Utah for the last 8 years. The service has always been great, but it seems the change in ownership of the casino has brought the food quality down tremendously. Very little flavor in our steaks, low quality calamari that was soggy, and the bread served seemed like Hawaiian rolls, not custom baked as before. Sadly won’t be our go to anymore.

My wife and I celebrated our birthday month at Katherine’s Steakhouse on 27 Sep 2024. Living in Las Vegas (LV), we decided to eat here because: (1) we had a bunch of coupons sent to us for a free night’s stay at CasaBlanca Resort-Casino-Golf-Spa and another coupon for a free appetizer or dessert at this restaurant (no, I am not one of those coupon warriors); and (2) my family and I first tried this restaurant several years ago and although I don’t recall what we ordered during that visit, it was good enough to want to try it again, regardless of having a coupon or not.

The service at this restaurant was good – the hostesses were friendly and our main server, Nimer, was professional, efficient, and attentive throughout the evening. The one drawback to the service (not towards one individual), was that I was slightly disappointed that the restaurant didn’t acknowledge it was our birthdays…yes, I specified this in our reservation. Not to mention, I’m used to restaurants, especially ones that focus on “fine dining,” asking or verifying that customers are(n’t) celebrating anything during that visit. Obviously I didn’t lose sleep over this, but I figured it was still worth mentioning.

For our food, we ordered the Lobster Bisque, Maryland Crab Cakes, and Super Lump Crab Cocktail for our appetizers; Mac and Cheese and Broccoli for our sides; and Colorado Lamb Chops and 16-oz Ribeye for our main entrées. We ordered the Grand Marnier Soufflé for our dessert at the beginning when we placed our entire order; however, due to a slight oversight on the restaurant, we didn’t get to try it – they forgot to place the order in the system at the beginning. Needless to say, we were so full that we probably wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much…so yes, I was appreciative of the fact that they forgot to place the order, and contrary to the saying, there’s NOT always room for dessert. Everything we ordered was notable; however, I felt the steak and mac and cheese were mediocre. The steak wasn’t awful by any means but I didn’t feel the beef quality was as good as I thought it would be…though, the seasoning and temperature were adequate. The star performers for that evening were the lamb chops, broccoli, and crab cocktail.

The prices are extremely reasonable at this restaurant. A bottle of Cabernet cost us $28 which normally would cost at least 60% more in LV which is astonishing for Mesquite residents or visitors. The restaurant décor and lighting provides a rustic yet elegant look/feel which was a comforting experience. The biggest negative for me was that this business allows customers to bring in pets/animals (someone brought a dog in a baby stroller while we were eating). Whereas, I have minimal issues when businesses allow this if the seating arrangements were outside, but since there are people in this country that have allergies to animals, including a family member of mine, I’m not a fan of supporting businesses that allow this. Not to mention, it’s already gross to see human hair in your food…why double that chance in having animal hair as well? Also, the tables and chairs were very close to each other in this restaurant which can make navigating tough for some folks – I watched a few chairs/customers get bumped from other people walking by several times.

Overall, I liked the experience, as depicted in my 4-star rating…and I’ll even recommend this restaurant to residents who have never been here; to visitors staying on this property, and for folks that are planning on just passing through this city. For my family and I, I don’t see us trying this restaurant again down the road; I have a difficult time supporting businesses that allow animals within the same vicinity of where I am eating…especially when I’m paying a certain amount of money for my experience.
