Used to love this place! They’re right down the road, so an easy trip. However, I noticed a serious decline when the new owner took over. Higher prices, smaller portions, nixed a bunch of menu items, and discontinued the loyalty punch cards. This last change happened mid-season and was something I learned when I was one punch away from a free cone. That sucked. Staff, although always polite, seemed kind of lost in the woods, even toward September.
I hope this all was just due to (very rocky) first year adjustments and I hope year two is significantly better. I plan to give them another chance when they open in the spring, and I’ll edit my review if things improve. And I truly hope they do. I’ve been a customer for 10+ years, so there’s that loyalty thing. But at present they are not my top ice cream place anymore.
On the bright side, my disillusionment encouraged me to explore other local ice cream places. Something I likely wouldn’t have done had TC’s maintained their awesomeness from before the business changed hands.
Wishing you guys a better second year. See you in the Spring.

WAS a great place for for ice cream and frozen custard. Key word was. It’s a 60 mile round trip for us, but it WAS worth it. Earlier this summer we drove 30 miles after lunch for an ice cream desert……Except their hours have changed, and they dont open until 2:00 now. We knew something was up, or had changed. What is up is their prices!! FAR greater than the rate of inflation. So we paid over $8 for 2 ice cream cones, and got our card punched ONCE. They had been punching the cards to match the purchases. In other words, 1 cone, 1 punch, 2 cones, 2 punches, etc. Now, you get 1 punch per visit…..Except now they don’t punch the cards at all, and stopped honoring cards completely, even if you have them mostly punched! So then I asked a counter girl about customer appreciation day, and was told yes, they still had it, and it was to happen Sunday September 14th. So we drove the 30 miles (again) for appreciation day, only to find they were closed. Frankly, you couldn’t do too many more things in such a short time to bury your business!! If I was the
former owner, and had worked all those years to build a respectable business reputation, Id be furious at how these new owners were absolutely ruining the reputation I’d worked so hard to build. I’ll NEVER go back, EVER…

Employees are VERY friendly, knowledgeable of their menu, and grateful for their tips! Young man working thanked me 3 times for a $3 tip- nice to hear!
Ice cream is awesome, love the malts (they have much more too!) they are cash only, but there is a bank right at the corner you could pull money from in a pinch. Thanks guys!

SAD DECLINE. New owner jacked up prices, cut portions in half, and now they have stopped the loyalty punch cards. What used to feel like a neighborhood staple now feels like a cash grab. Mayberry’s down the street is the better choice.

You can’t go wrong with custard! But they do have hand dip ice cream and specialty selections as well. They make a delicious banana split and I love all the parfaits. My border collie Rosie loves getting her doggie dish. It is cash only.

Best Ice Cream stand around. They have plenty of options to satisfy any of your ice cream cravings. They offer soft serve custard with a new flavor of the week. Plenty of hard dip flavors to choose from, as well as shakes, malts, sundaes, mixers, and dip cones. There is also a small playground for the kids to enjoy. Go and enjoy an ice cream cone!

This place has the best frozen custard! They have ice cream too but I love the custard so much I never order anything else. The small size is huge so I order the baby size. It makes me feel like Goldilocks cause it’s just right. I didn’t take a photo because I couldn’t wait to eat it. 5 star! If you haven’t tried this place yet, you are in for a treat.

Good ice cream and proportion size. The only thing I’m sad about is they don’t carry cheeseburgers anymore. Those were really good.
