Amazing food and service, every dish is top tier. My favourites are the oysters, baked oysters and aburi sushi. Staff are fast, professional and kind.

Love the private rooms. The food it great, tea is decent and they supply free ice cream at the end of the meal. This place is worth checking out. I’ve tried the matcha, mango and sesame ice creams and highly recommend trying the sesame if it’s available when you come.

This place is not wheelchair friendly as the spacing between booths is very narrow and restrooms are very small. Just as a heads up.

Tsukiji Japanese Restaurant delivers an authentic Japanese dining experience with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients and meticulous preparation. Known for its impressive variety of sushi and sashimi, the restaurant takes pride in offering premium cuts of fish that are expertly sliced and beautifully presented. Signature rolls, assorted nigiri, and chef’s specials highlight the best of Japanese culinary traditions, while warm dishes like tempura, teriyaki, and udon provide comforting options for all palates.

The cozy and inviting atmosphere makes it an excellent choice for both casual lunches and intimate dinners. Guests appreciate the attentive and friendly service, which enhances the overall dining experience. For those seeking variety, the omakase or chef’s choice platters are a popular pick, showcasing seasonal ingredients and creative combinations. Pairing the meal with sake or Japanese beer further elevates the flavors.

Whether you’re stopping by for a light meal or celebrating a special occasion, Tsukiji maintains a balance between authenticity and modern dining appeal. Its commitment to freshness and presentation ensures every visit is memorable, making it a go-to destination for sushi lovers and anyone craving a taste of Japan in a relaxed yet refined setting.

The sushi at Tsukiji, while decent, did not quite live up to the standards set by other Japanese sushi houses I’ve visited. The flavors were somewhat lacking in depth, and the freshness of the ingredients was not as pronounced as I had hoped. The selection was adequate, but it didn’t offer the wow factor that I was looking for in a sushi dining experience.

The service at Tsukiji was average, neither exceptionally good nor bad. The staff were polite and attentive, but there wasn’t a sense of warmth or personalized attention that can elevate a dining experience from ordinary to special. The efficiency of the service was commendable, but it lacked the personal touch that can make a restaurant stand out.

Overall, I would rate my experience at Tsukiji Japanese Restaurant as a 5 out of 10. While it provides a satisfactory dining experience, it doesn’t quite hit the mark in terms of the exceptional food quality and service that I seek in a Japanese sushi restaurant. It’s a decent option for a casual meal, but it may not satisfy those looking for an authentic and outstanding sushi experience.

An Unforgettable Top-Tier Japanese Dining Experience!

Our dinner was absolutely perfect! This Japanese restaurant completely won over my taste buds—every dish was a masterpiece, both visually and in flavor.

The Sashimi Platter is undoubtedly the star of the show! The otoro (fatty tuna) was rich and silky, and the combination of freshly grated wasabi with chilled sashimi made every bite a revelation—this is what true Omakase-level freshness should taste like!

The Foie Gras Sushi deserves a special mention! Thick-cut foie gras was lightly seared to perfection—crispy on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth tender on the inside. Its intense, buttery aroma balanced beautifully with the slightly tangy sushi rice. I almost wanted to give it a round of applause!

✨ The Gold Leaf Wagyu Rice Bowl was pure luxury on a plate! The A5 wagyu had a breathtaking marbling pattern, the onsen egg coated each grain of rice in velvety richness, and the edible gold flakes sprinkled on top made every bite taste like wealth (both literally and figuratively, haha).

The owner was warm and knowledgeable, recommending the perfect sake pairings based on our preferences and even adjusting the portion sizes to suit us. The service staff were all smiles throughout the meal, and their attention to detail—like promptly changing plates and refilling tea—rivaled that of a high-end kaiseki restaurant.

This place has been super consistent with their food quality and service. They offered fresh fish sashimi and special customized dishes. When comes with food quality, it is hard to look at the price ;). Love this place and highly recommend anyone for Japanese cuisine in Richmond.

Super fresh sashimi. Not a huge fan of sashimi in general but it was excellent here. Had the foie gras nigiri and that was the highlight of the meal. The rolls and cooked food are also fantastic and reasonably priced. Must try if you are in Richmond.

Restaurant is mediocre in terms of skill and rolls, I found that the sushi rolls were below average. However, if you know what to order here, their specialty items are delicious. Including their aburi sushi, the foi gras, and the fatty tuna. Although those are always very high quality ingredients that are hard to mess up, but I definitely would come back here for those items. The appetizers are not bad, but not super special either. The atmosphere was nice, although I wished we could’ve sat in the floor seating, it’s a very interesting concept for design, very traditional and employees there will speak Chinese if you don’t know English. Would recommend overall.
