New owners and Yakisoba?
If you aren’t expecting to get a traditional Japanese Yakisoba, you might like this. It looks and tastes like an orange sweet and sour sauce. And the server asked me how spicy I wanted my Yakisoba, so clearly the new owners are putting their own spin on Japanese food.
Even soy sauce is no longer on the table or offered with the meal. I’m not really sure what cuisine this is now, but not Japanese for sure.

They had so many vegan options clearly marked with little hearts. We got the fried tofu noodles (I can’t remember the actual name tbh), the fried avocado roll, and the veggie roll. It was all really good. Our favorite item was the fried avocado roll. We will definitely be back when we go to Astoria again! The atmosphere was cute and the waitress was very friendly. I recommend this place if you are a vegan in Astoria!

Very small from outside and I would of missed it if thier wasn’t traffic, I went to bank and drove by it and thought let me try this place, when I came in had quite a bit of seating to my surprise was very unique for the atmosphere that it presented from the inside . Food was great I ordered yakisoba noodles and chicken bowl and got 2 eggs forgot to tell them how wanted them cooked, got a fried rice on the side. Was way to much food for me was more hungry when came in, so took fried rice with me and the 2 eggs, so great way to have food for later. So was nice little joint that was great believe the server was Matthew and he was very polite and knew quite a bit of the menu and great personality. Spent about a little under 30 bucks but was nice. Owners wasn’t thier at that time but they made a nice place to feed anyone looking for Japanese food, but teriyaki and sushi is thier game here.

A tad disappointed honestly. This place has been a childhood staple for me and I’ve been going here for ages. I understand that ownership has changed but if you are going to keep the same menu I’d expect the same flavor.
The chicken wasn’t as throughly cooked as usual and the sushi had no flavor. The tamago was practically flavorless and the salmon tasted more like it was straight from the can. The one thing that was good was the steamed vegetables.
I genuinely hope that the food will improve in the future.

First of all I wanna start off the review saying how much I loved tokyo teriyaki and how amazing the food was, before the remodel and honestly the new cooks. When I started coming here a year ago, the ramen was amazing, noodles were perfect, and always had such amazing flavor, the veggies were perfect and I had no complaints, easy 10/10. ever since they got new cooks the ramen taste like packaged ramen with 0 to no flavor, its straight up gross. They have no veggies in it, and it just is nasty. Don’t believe me? try it. They either need to fix their ramen, or just stop serving it, it is that bad.
The theming looks like American’s take on Japanese culture with the original looking authentic. Music is just American pop with no Japanese music(ruining the atmosphere)
Overall, lost a regular customer who went there all the time, so sad to watch my favorite food place get disrespected so hard.

Absolutely dumbstruck! This little place may look like a hole in the wall, but prepare yourself for some amazing food. The teriyaki and yakisoba were simple, delicious, and huge! The thing that really shined for me was the sushi though. It was a large roll that was made to absolute perfection! Mix all of this in with some of the friendliest staff, it’s hard to believe that any restaurant in Astoria can compete with these guys! Well done Tokyo Teriyaki. We will definitely return here on our next trip to Oregon!

8.75 for teriyaki chicken plate lunch special. I didn’t want the rice or noodles so they substituted extra veggies for no extra charge which was nice. Fast, friendly, helpful service. Very fresh. If I had more time & money I would definitely give their sushi a try. Clean establishment and restrooms. Would recommend.

Had 3 of their Hosomaki rolls; salmon, tuna, yellowtail. It tasted amazing! Their sushi rice was seasoned well and the fish was high quality and the nori was not overly chewy. We loved the atmosphere with the privacy dividers between tables and the staff was lovely. Will be going back!

The salmon and egg bowl was ok. The bento box was good. The miso soup was excellent. Edamame was fine. Tempura shrimp and vegetables was very good. They also have a few teas we didn’t try including peppermint tea. They also sell Japanese snacks.
