Reviews
The service was spectacular, and i ended up ordering an Apple crisp a la Mode, it let me speechless.
It is rare that i do a review but this place got my heart, i will definitely come back.
But newly single and eager to forget both my New Jersey girlfriend and my first disastrous pizza encounter in this Country, I checked into a chilly oceanfront motel and resolved to “heal,” which in my case meant sitting on the sand in a coat that was not designed for wind speeds usually reserved for nautical emergencies.
It was in this fragile state that I sought refuge at Federici’s on 10th. I entered expecting warmth, sustenance, and perhaps a reprieve from the relentless Atlantic gale that had taken to slapping me across the face hourly. What I received was something far greater.
This pizza… this pizza was therapy. The sauce was sublime, bright, layered, and self-assured. It was the kind of sauce that knows exactly who it is and refuses to settle. It tasted like tomatoes that had developed character through adversity. I respected it deeply.
But it was the thin, crispy crust that delivered the true revelation. Crisp without brittleness, sturdy without arrogance…each bite shattered with an elegant crackle, as if the crust itself had been forged in the fires of self-improvement. I could only admire its integrity, especially given my own lack thereof.
As I ate, I realized I was experiencing something rare: a moment of genuine contentment. Outside, Belmar gusted and grumbled, reminding me loudly and often that it was November and I had made questionable life choices. But inside, slice after slice, I felt myself recalibrating. This pizza was everything my former companion was not: steady, balanced, and crisp in all the right ways.
Everything else is good but for me it’s the pizza.
The food was delicious, but there was a little disappointment!!!
Today’s lunch consisted of an appetizer and a large pizza.
The appetizer was something called stuff onion rings, they were stuffed with sauteed spinach, ricotta cheese, lightly breaded, fries and topped with mozzarella cheese. Served with tomato sauce.
The disappointment was that for $8.95 there were only 2, that’s right “2”.
Now this appetizer was very delicious, but in the world of onion rings you can’t just eat one. Other restaurants usually offer a small or large basket of regular onion rings with or without cheese sauce.
Now maybe we were expecting a little more, but facts are facts, 4 or more rings would of been an appropriate amount.
Each onion ring with all of its ingredients averaged to $.4.48.
Now let’s review the pizza, it was their Plain 15″ Pie extra crispy. It was baked to our liking with the right crisp, color and marbling of the crust that was nearly perfect.
The cheese and sauce was excellent!!!
The next time, no Stuffed Onion Rings, we’ll try another appetizer or maybe a salad.
