I got the stuffed pratha, butter chicken, and a mango lassi. The stuffed pratha really stood out, especially with the yogurt on it. I was very impressed. The butter chicken was more like BUTTER chicken: an arterial show-stopper. If you like it rich, this is your spot. A very good amount of meat in it, too. The “spicy” option could be spicier, though, for sure.
A banger, but maybe not a good first date option, unless you’re dating the ghost of Anthony Bourdain. Because, ya know, it’s in a gas station convenience store. It’s a banger, though.
Took delivery of Saag Paneer, Missi Roti, and Lachcha Paratha — sounded like a royal Punjabi combo, right?
Taste was good. Nothing to write home about, but definitely flavorful enough to keep you smiling through the meal. The kind of food that doesn’t make you go “wow,” but also doesn’t let you complain either. Just peacefully delicious.
Maybe my expectations were sky-high because I recently had the legendary Saag Paneer from Taste of India on Highway 99 near Madera. That one kind of ruined it for everyone else — set the bar too high!
So yeah, good food, satisfying meal, but not the kind that makes you start singing old Punjabi songs.
Highly recommended!
I ordered the chicken masala with white rice, garlic naan, and a mango yogurt drink, and everything was absolutely delicious. The chicken masala was rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced, with tender pieces of chicken in a sauce. The white rice was fluffy and paired perfectly, and the garlic naan was fresh, warm, and had just the right amount of crisp on the edges. The mango yogurt drink was the perfect sweet and refreshing way to balance out the spices—so good!
You can really tell the food is made with care and fresh ingredients. I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes. Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Indian food or wants to try something new—you won’t be disappointed!
