I got a pulled pork bbq sandwich and my hubby got the pulled chicken. Both were really good! The pulled pork was juicy and flavorful, didn’t even need any sauce. There wasn’t any gristle or fat and I really enjoyed it . The fries were crispy and fresh tasty. Hubby said the Mac and cheese was good. I really liked the variety of sauces at the table. If I had to complain at all it would be that the restaurant seemed a little warm temperature wise. We will definitely be back to try more items!

Finally got by Ironhead today and it was nothing short of a fantastic experience! The staff were extremely friendly, cordial, and had no issues offering their own opinions and recommendations. The restaurant itself was extremely clean and well stocked in addition to being very functional in terms of ordering, buffet line, etc. I ordered the loaded fries, Mac and Cheese bites, and an apple crisp. The food was nothing short of mouth watering and full of so much flavor! The brisket was tender, very well seasoned, and packed with so much flavor. The toppings on the fries added a wonderful bed for these smokiness of the meat. Th fries were crispy despite having everything piled on top and each bite was phenomenal. The Mac and Cheese bites were perfectly fried and the pepper jelly was INCREDIBLE! Each bite was full of flavor and packed a savory/sweet punch. The apple crisp was absolutely amazing and I wish I had ordered more! Overall this was probably one of my favorite meals I’ve had in recent memory and it’s safe to say I will be back as often as possible!

This is a definite 100% recommend. If you’re in the area, please stop by. I ordered the ribs. They were not fall off the bone like I was expecting, but they were good nonetheless seasoned well. Very delicious. I got the mac & cheese, collard greens and added a side of potato salad. The potato salad was the best potato salad I had ever had. My son ordered thebrisket with coleslaw and mac & cheese. They are a 10/10

I’ve tried hundreds of briskets they have never been good. Iron heads brisket almost made me cry with the perfection….. they do barbecue right! I’ve always heard how wonderful it’s supposed to be and finally I understand!

I got the pulled chicken plate with collards and beans. All of it was fantastic, will be coming back here when I am in Aiken area. Tried the St Louis sauce, but did not need it as the chicken was seasoned.

The portions are large and the food I ordered was really good. The tri tip was beefy and smokey and so tender. It didn’t need sauce but since it was my first visit I had to try the different sauces. I really liked the mustard barbecue sauce because it was piquant and flavorful. The greens had a bite to them and were savory and peppery and I will get then every time I visit in the future. I also tried the macaroni and cheese and it was cheddar-cheesy perfection. This was all served with a thick slab of country white bread.
The value was incredible. The tri tip plate with a generous portion of meat, two good-sized sides and a thick slice of white bread was a great deal. You’ll definitely have leftovers. I’m really looking forward to visiting again soon.
I should also mention: service was excellent. The crew was very courteous and welcoming.

I wasn’t impressed tried the dino rib. It was not appealing to the eye. Didn’t fall off bone as I expected. It was greasy and only flavor I taste was salt not smoked nor grill. Wasted $35 plus tax! Rice was out too long so it was crunchy with the hash. Mac n cheese ok. Wish I would have tried the brisket now but unsure if I’ll go back! (Would not let me upload pics)

I have traveled all over the world for my job, to include all over the United States, and this BBQ place right here is the closest to genuine Texas bbq in the CSRA. I stop in literally once every week, max two weeks.
The owner is incredibly friendly and nice. The staff is just as friendly and very welcoming!!!

I took my grandson for lunch and we were pretty excited to eat there from what our friends had told us. Must of caught them on a bad day. Our food was cold, we had pulled pork sandwiches, brisket taco, mac & cheese, coleslaw. Lunch was $40.72. I returned the coleslaw it had way to much mayonnaise, they swapped it out for hash and rice but it was cold too. Brisket taco meat was full of fat. I hate to complain. I will give it another try. Definitely need to find a way to keep food hot and not dried out.

Iron Head BBQ is amazing! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. The variety of sauces really sets them apart — from sweet and smoky to tangy with a little kick, there’s something for every taste. The staff is super courteous and welcoming, and the whole place has that friendly, hometown feel. Definitely one of the best BBQ spots around!
