Always enjoy my visit! The place is cozy (the space is divided up in different rooms of the “house”) and the service is always super friendly.

The spinach and artichoke dip (with fried pita chips) is one of the best dips I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I’ve tried a variety of burgers and pizzas, and the “artichoke the chicken” is one of my favorites. The duck fat fries are delicious, but the regular fries are as equally good without the added cost.

All in all, highly recommend!

Great food and cocktails with friendly service. The real standout is the building, though; it’s a 175+ year old hotel just overflowing with character, charm and history. Such a cool and fun experience; we’ll definitely be back.

A little, rustic oasis of sorts in an otherwise residential area that feels very far away from the nearby city. I went with my family and parents on an early Saturday night (I also wanted to use a Groupon).

The location, a historic home, has an intimate feel, but doesn’t seem totally out of place for more casual dining. The menu is smaller but varied, with a mix of modern Gastropub offerings and more classic American dining staples. The drink menu is also extremely vast, boasting a massive bourbon selection as well as some intriguing flight options.

We started out with the giant pretzel with beer cheese, which was quite good, and had a texture and flavor that tasted a bit more like bakery bread than other pretzels, and was a nice alternative. I got the Swine of Florence flatbread as my main, along with the seasonal Brussels sprouts. Both items were well made and enjoyable. The rest of my finally seemed quite happy with their choices as well, even if the price is a bit high overall when compared to nearby alternatives.

Overall, this is an upscale but casually inviting experience with enjoyable food centered around their namesake brick oven. A bit on the pricier side, but worth it for the overall experience and ambiance, and often alleviated by online coupon offers. Worth a stop if you’re the area, but want to get away from the nearby hustle and bustle.

I visited Brick & Barrel Cross Keys for the first time during Pittsburgh Restaurant Week, and despite its immense popularity, I was seated immediately—no wait at all. That alone was a great start.

I ordered The Barnyard Burger, their specialty duck fat fries, and what a bourbon hot chocolate from their seasonal special drinks menu. Simply put, this was the best burger I have ever had. Everything about it—from the quality of the meat to the toppings and the way it was cooked—was phenomenal. I enjoyed it so much that I returned just a week later to try another burger, The Gunslinger, along with regular fries and the Spinach Artichoke Dip appetizer. Once again, I was not disappointed—the flavors were outstanding, and everything was cooked to perfection.

Of all the restaurants I visited during Restaurant Week, this was by far the best experience. The food was great, the service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere, an experience all on its own, really made it stand out, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you’re looking for incredible burgers and a top-tier dining experience, Brick & Barrel Cross Keys should be at the top of your list!

My friends and I just had dinner there for the first time, but it won’t be the last. Our food was great, and we loved the atmosphere. But the best thing I can say is repeat what my husband said about his meal. I ordered him the filet and crab cake, with asparagus and roasted potatoes to go. He said this was the best restaurant meal he’s had in quite a while, and that’s even after it traveled half an hour home. We will definitely return.

A large group of us (12) decided to come get after a hike in a local park. We all were able to sit together in a nice side room together (with the Steelers game on!). The on tap beer selection is great and they have lots of house cocktail options. The food, especially the crispy pizza, was excellent! Everyone had a nice time and appreciated our server Brittney very much. A local we made friends with even treated us to a special buffalo chicken pizza not even on the menu. Overall a great experience!
