Perfect place for local flair. Cold canned beers and seltzers and liquor drinks at the ready. Happened upon it on a MS state game day and the group was hyper focused on the game but friendly to outsiders. Hobie himself was a welcoming host. Check it out for an intimate vibe. Didn’t eat the food so no comment there.

Had a lot of fun here the night before a game. Hung out with the owner and his good friend. Fantastic people. They only have a beer license, but I was fine with that. Great view of Main Street off the second floor patio. The crowd was mostly college kids in the interior, which is quite young compared to us, but out on the patio it was the older folks lol.

Casual hang-out with lots of cool Mississippi State memorabilia, beach vibes, and an all around good time. Leave your worries at the door because Hobie’s is a cool spot to grab a beer and overlook downtown Starkville from the balcony. Great spot in the heart of Starkville. Only reason for 3-stars on food is because menu is small, but plenty of spots nearby to eat before grabbing beers here.

Great local spot. Alex the bartender was friendly and was full of information about the area. Also, I met Chip who was patron. Very friendly and full of information about the area. Great place to visit. They only sell beer, yet you can brown bag for a small fee. Definitely recommend.

There are no mixed drinks available because they do not serve liquor. After 10 pm the female co-owner became abrasive when shutting down the outdoor order window when asked if that ordering from that location was a new rule. I then went to the restroom soon after before leaving and she attempted to kick me out when I was attempting to go back to my wife to lead her out of the establishment through the crowd. Used to be my favorite bar to avoid typical college crowds but will have to find a new bar.

Hobie and i go way back to Greenville Ms. where we played some football together in high school. When i heard that he had this place in one of my favorite cities in Ms. I had to check it out ! place is AWESOME ! COLD BEER , and there are no other COLLEGE FOOTBALL FANS I’d rather hang with than some GREAT STATE FANS!!! GO BULLDAWGS AND HAIL STATE !!
