I was 45 years old when I first heard of this place. Service on food was slow but the server was on point. Food was great, Filet and Lobster, two thumbs up. French onion soup is legit and my wife and I took home the dessert because there wasn’t any room. The atmosphere, the coziness, the Notre Dame memorabilia was awesome. Worth every penny.

Insanely awesome! Whenever we go to ND we stop here. Love the people, the place and the food. There are so many good things it is impossible to know where to start. Last time there I had the tuna entree and it was cooked to perfect rare temp. Chicken lips are insanely great as always. Tried the roasted garlic app and will now be a lifetime fan. Not sure how they make it but the combination of fresh garlic, cheese, butter and spices with the crusty bread…..OMG. Desert was incredible. We got the peanut butter pie and a pecan pie. Both incredibly awesome in their own way and each had the signature whipped cream. unreal!!!

Carol is an absolutely fantastic bartender—so kind, welcoming, and genuinely wonderful. We love sitting at the bar and chatting with her while enjoying truly top-tier service. The other staff members are extremely knowledgeable, kind and hard working. The drinks are consistently excellent, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting, the food is delicious, and the desserts are incredibly tasty. Plus, the portions are generous, which is always a win. We keep coming back because it never disappoints.

To start, you absolutely need a reservation to come here. We made a reservation for dinner on a Wednesday and saw two separate groups get turned away. Because your reservation ensures you get at least 2 hours for dinner, which you will need!

This place is a little crazy and apparently a ND classic. I’ve lived up here my whole life and never been here. As soon as you enter your senses are assaulted by everything on the wall, which will take all dinner to look at! It appears to be some hybrid Christmas theme with local lore.

The menu is also crazy in that the portion sizes are huge. Prepare to share or take home. We ordered the baked Brie for our appetizer as well as the baked garlic. We easily could’ve had just one appetizer for 4 women. Both were delicious but if I had to choose the Brie was easier to eat and very tasty.

All the reviews stated the burger was the best so our whole table ordered burgers. This was a mistake. The burgers are massive and easily 1 lb of meat each. I wish I could say the burgers were good, they weren’t. They are allegedly made out of filet mignon, I find that hard to believe. If it’s true it means our burgers were way overcooked. I would not order them again especially for the price.

Desserts are what this place is known for and none disappointed. Got the key lime pie and it was delicious. Our service was a bit weird because we were being helped by a server in training. It feels like our table was forgotten about because our dinner took over 2.5 hours and our orders were pretty simple. Overall I’ll be back but maybe just for desserts or appetizers.

Food was amazing! We all ordered the Godfather, Buffalo potato skins for appetizer, and LOTS of cheesecake for dessert! Def a must try if you’ve never stopped in here

If you’re from here or coming into town for a Notre Dame game, Yesterday’s is a staple of South Bend family-owned dining. The service is excellent, and the portions are generous without sacrificing quality, making it feel like a complete dining experience. My wife and I ordered the prime rib, and it was outstanding we’ll definitely be back soon to order it again.

The atmosphere is great LOVE all the nostalgic photos and excellent music choice. Food was excellent we had the French onion soup, mesquite shrimp, frog legs and the crab cake was ok. The young lady in the photo really makes the place enjoyable her customer service is excellent our server wasn’t quite as personable. We absolutely enjoyed our experience here and will definitely be back again soon.

You know I was a bit disappointed today. I had a taste for cheesecake and drove all the way from MI, got there before they opened only to get up to the door and see a sign that says no desserts were going to be served because the desert girl was not there today. I thought that was a bit odd, the desserts are the main attraction! There isn’t another place in that area that even comes close to their desserts. Hopefully they are able to get more help so that they don’t run into this issue again.
