Has quickly become my favorite Chinese restaurant in town. Roast pork fried rice is incredibly good to the point that I have to get it every time. Spicy dishes are genuinely spicy, and if you’re like me where you need that extra heat, they’ll happily make it extra spicy. Portions are generous, with a nice menu selection, I find myself trying a new dish every time. Staff has always been kind and courteous to me. Give it a try, they won’t disappoint!

My family and I have eaten Gold Lion for years. Food is always consistent, good size portions, reasonably priced, and always ready in less than 15 minutes. They have great lunch specials. We love the Lo Mein and General Tso’s. They have the best Hot and Sour Soup. If you are looking for a good Chinese restaurant this is it.

The pricing for lunch was quite reasonable; however, I found the sesame chicken to be somewhat dry, and the rice had the distinct flavor of being prepared in a rice cooker. Additionally, I noticed that the restaurant had an extension cord tied to the door, and the overall cleanliness and organization left much to be desired, with boxes and clutter present throughout the space. I would not plan to dine inside until these organizational issues are addressed. Based on the visible disarray, I am hesitant to trust the kitchen and likely will not return.

This place has the best hot and sour soup and orange chicken I’ve had in the area, however the Springfield chicken is most definitely NOT Springfield style cashew chicken. It’s not bad cashew chicken but if you’re looking for the OG Springfield style cashew chicken this isn’t it.other than that is was a great meal at a great price

This might not be the biggest Chinese joint in independence, but it is one of the best. The food is amazing, the people are nice, there is sitdown areas. My favorite is the general sauce is chicken not spicy. It is delicious. One lunch plate is pretty good to divide between two people actually. The prices are great. We ate for less than $20 between us too, and that was with two meals that we could take one home! If you’d like Chinese, definitely give this place a shot before anywhere else!! Soup, egg roll Or crab Raccoon and the entrée that you pick are around eight or nine dollars and they are well worth it. The portion is very good sized. My mother and I could honestly have split one plate… Like I said, give this a shot. Let’s Get this small family owned business a lot of business coming in and support them!!!

Food had a metallic taste like they use cheap cookware that over heats and leaches metal into the food, fried wonton are obviously precooked and packaged as they were cold stale meat smelt off in them. While waiting I could hear someone in the back kitchen hacking coughing like they were dying turned out it was the cook. The service was horrible the lady speaks through this cheap microphone to take your order and she is difficult to understand so when you ask for her to repeat what she said she just yells into it creating distortion in the speaker. Forget sitting here to eat the place is a complete dump there is stuff piled everywhere in the chairs on the tables it is beyond cluttered its like hoarding, we ended up throwing the whole meal in the trash and just going to panda express.

Out shopping with family and decided to stop and grab lunch at Gold lion. Wow! We were so impressed with our food. We all ordered the lunch, special shrimp with vegetables. It came with your choice of hot and sour soup or egg drop soup and your choice of an eggroll or crab Rangoon. The egg drop was piping hot and very flavorful. The shrimp with vegetables was full of broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, baby corn, peapods and several good size shrimp I think my order had 7, plus two large scoops of fried rice. I forgot to take a picture until I had finished and had half left over. They do have very little seating, three or four booths and I think they mainly do carryout and delivery. Definitely worth giving it a try.

It’s a carry out restaurant in my opinion. There’s still a covid board up at the register and they’ve settled into their own charm about the place, so plenty to look at! Lol! It’s hot Chinese food, no frills that tastes good and is hot and ready quick. Can’t beat it!

Styrofoam plates, plastic utensils, supplies piled up haphazardly everywhere, hunan triple delight very greasy, shrimp lo-mein was just ok, nothing special. I would not recommend this restaurant. We were looking for another Chinese place but this is not the one.
