I waited awhile to return… but the last two times the food has been amazing!!
I’d like to talk about my experience at Mozzies yesterday.
March 13, 2025.
Overall it was disappointing.
It wasn’t my first time there. I visited last year and the food was great.
However, yesterday I found the food mediocre at best. We both ordered wing plates.
These plates were almost $20 each and came with 5 wing sections and two sides of approximately 1-2 oz each. The price is hard to justify, especially so close to a black community.
My second issue with the wings was there was barely any sauce on them. The sauce we tried was hot honey and it was really good, like could be sold in stores lol but… there was barely any on there.
The third issue was upon arriving home we found they forgot to put the gravy on the rice. It’s not really up the street so getting a replacement isn’t really a satisfactory reimbursement because 9/10 we won’t be going to get it.
I guess my feedback is this establishment was built off the work of an amazing chef who is outsourcing his cooking a little early in my opinion. I think this is especially true for daytime hours.
This meal was $40 but felt like it was only worth 20. I’m sure that’s not the case when the chef is cooking but just in case unfortunately I won’t be returning or recommending for awhile.

I visited for the first time on 2/13/26. I had the Brisket Egg Rolls and the Hot Honey Catfish Sandwich. When I tell you this was some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. I love catfish and I was not disappointed. I will definitely be going back for more and to try other things on the menu 1000/10❤️

The food is some of the best that ive had in NC. The burger, as well as the brisket mac n cheese were phenominal. Customer service is outstanding. Highly recommend if youre in the area, and if you arent, its worth the drive.

I came into this restaurant tonight excited to try it after my sister told me she ate here last night so I ordered a cheeseburger. The man who took my order at the front was very rude and had a disgusting attitude. After he took my money and the order went to the back the worker stated he didn’t have any lettuce, tomato, or onion. I said cool well I don’t eat my burger any other way he then told me to go get some Funyuns and add them to my burger and be done with it and voiced a few other rude things. I began to step back and said it’s fine I’ll just take the burger and he then told me to have a bad day and that is when I requested a refund. Nobody deserves to be treated poorly because an establishment doesn’t have what they claim to have on the menu. Also 2 employees literally had to come from the back and tell him to stop harassing me. I’m crushed by this and now have to wait for a refund. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional! I already don’t go on this side of town but this has furthermore proved to me why I shouldn’t!

This restaurant is absolutely DELICIOUS! You MUST try the Mozzie Dog, trust me you will not be disappointed! Their spinach is hands down the best I’ve ever tasted! Don’t walk, but RUN to this establishment and be welcomed by the owner and his beautiful wife!

I ordered the chicken tenders with bbq sauce, yams and Mac for a side because it’s an undefeated combo. These are actual chicken tenders soft and crispy the yams/Mac remind me of thanksgiving/Christmas I’d recommend mozzies to anyone looking for something good on the late night. I’d add photos but I’m making this review the next day

I went to this place with friends the food was nasty the fish was so hard my tooth chipped. The owner Mozzie had a nasty attitude and was mad at me that my food was nasty. He was very disrespectful I would never spend my money in this place again not worth it…. The inside is ugly and the bathrooms stink and toilets are not clean at all. I don’t recommend this place at all..
