We got a good corner table and a very attentive waiter. However we came looking for pulpo and chorizo and realized it was a taco and wasn’t what we saw from the picture in the menu on maps, so we were disappointed. Their sangria is a stronger version, more wine than juice which we liked. Everything else we got (mariscos and cheese dip) was ok. But the mango cream postres is to die for.

Came here for a spontaneous weekend dinner while hanging out in down Redwood City. We were seated quickly. Sitting outside on the walking only street was nice.
Unfortunately the food really under impressed. The ceviche we had was actually pretty good with fresh seafood and a good sauce, but the filet mignon dish was swimming in a gross oil, and the carne asada tacos were criminally bland. Disappointed for a resto that had so many good reviews, hopefully it was just an off day for the cooks.

Had brunch here and the French toast was the best French toast I’ve ever had! The other brunch dishes were good but kind of smaller than expected. Sometimes service was a little bit busy with other tables but I can’t blame them during these difficult times with the labor market.
We’ve also been here for tapas and the quesabirria is amazing too.

Clean, fun and delicious food. They have a house DJ on Fridays, and maybe Saturdays.

Great place serving Mexican fusion tapas in Redwood City downtown. They have a lot of vegetarian options on the menu- the patatas con calabacin and flautas are delicious! The only plate that missed the mark was the potato dumplings – they were a bit chewy and lacked flavor. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal!

Delicious tapas dishes although a little on the expensive side. The outdoor seating was nice and we had reservations although they were taking walkins on Sunday right around lunch time. Love their free bread basket (taro, plantain, tortilla) chips with salsa. Tacos were tasty although on the smaller side. The lomo saltado (skirt steak) and grilled king salmon were both delicious.

Excellent food! The best tacos I have had. The tortillas were brown ones with perfect mix of spice. They have a very good vegetarian menu! The potato dumplings was beyond our expectations! Loved the place.

Lots of restaurants fall off after their first few years. Not LV Mar. Their cocktails are exceptional. Their food is elevated and delicious but still approachable. Their staff could not be more kind and consistent. And their prices are appropriate if not a little low given how excellent their menu is. We have been going here for ten years and we have never had an “off” night. My only wish is that they’d dim the lights a bit more and make it more romantic for a date night, but hey, it hasn’t stopped us from coming back again and again!

The food was absolutely stunning visually and gustably. The cocktails were great too, but the food is the outstanding part. Highly recommended!! Sitting outside at dusk was perfect, and they have heaters. To us, the portion was perfect, so don’t expect to be painfully full from here. Quality much over quantity! Both the duck and scallop were cooked perfectly, they were not under or over cooked at all.

We went in for a lunch date and at first, we were spooked by the emptiness. Perhaps it was a previous gem going in decline? The current reviews were great but somehow it felt deserted. Of course, yes, there is the pandemic but still it’s at the heart of Redwood City.
Be not afraid. The food was fabulous. The ceviche arrived first and it really burst into flavors. It fit perfectly with the plantain chips. The beef empanadas could’ve used a bit thinner dough but nevertheless flavorful. Lobster bisque was done Mexican style which was a jazzy twist to a classic. And the papas with ham on top also surprised in an interesting way.
This tapas joint is bursting with flavor and character. This is not your typical fusion Mexican place. The chef really is trying to make a unique statement unapologetically. He/she is putting it out there and is proud of it. The atmosphere is colorful, just like its food. The stucco fisherman’s village vibe with modern cocktail lounge somehow strikes chord.
It was a great experience and we’ll be returning shortly.
