I’ll start with service. The service was amazing, we were promptly seated, and our orders were taken quick. The food was good, but not great for the price point. Overall, if I was in town I would like to try the steak dinners, but I don’t think the price meets what we ordered.

The owner was very nice and accommodating. She is funny and answers questions about the town and place. The seafood platter was a bit overcooked but still pretty crunchy, but the sandwiches were well made, and their dessert was sweet and delicious. It was the highlight. Lastly, its located in a historic building, and they honor the history with stories and pictures of the building through the years. It is well preserved.

Delightful place. Service was wonderful. Salad was fresh, crisp, and the added raisins and sunflower seeds a nice touch. Prime rib was very nice. Filet was tender and flavorful. Baked potato was perfect. The dinner rolls were some of the best. We enjoyed our trip out there. We will go again and bring friends.

My friend and I ordered the 24oz Prime Rib and Ribeye. It was Delicious! Peter’s Steakhouse is the only place I know that serves a 64oz Prime Rib! We also ordered the seafood appetizer (fried oysters, calamari & shrimp). It was cooked perfectly and not over batter. Danny, was our server and owner’s son. He was kind enough to show us the upstairs banquet hall and tell us the interesting story of this memorable historical building. Definitely will be coming back again!

Decent little spot with a historic touch.

My wife and thought this place looked interesting on our drive up the OLD Sac and decided to give it a touch.

Service was very fast and friendly.

The historic pictures and literature to read hanging on the walls was very fascinating and fun to read.

The place was not overcrowded and there was plenty of seating, although my booth seat was blown out and uncomfortable.

We ordered a steak dinner and a salad. The steak was cooked perfect medium rare and my horseradish appeared home made.

Flavor was bland and price was steep. ( except the cream corn was amazing )

Pricing could be a reflection of current the economy, the state of California or other factors the restaurant can not control.

We would probably come back and try different menu items because there was some variety to choose from .

Honestly, go to this restaurant anytime you are in the area. You will not regret it. The menu is fantastic and Yee is amazing and so kind and fun. She took such good care of us and had great suggestions. Margaritas and all cocktails are perfect, the lamb rack, prime rib and ribeye were SUPERB!!! 100/10. Give them all your $. It is so worth it and you will leave so happy to have found this awesome restaurant.

I was lured in by the rating and reviews. I made the trek to Isleton solely for the prime rib at Peter’s Steakhouse. But not sure what happened, the prime rib I got was dry and served at a lukewarm temp. Bummer. Service on the other hand was off the charts down right hospitable.

Hubs and I dropped in for lunch. I ordered the prime rib sandwich and chose a green salad for my side. Hubs ordered a cheeseburger with fries (which were thick cut). My prime rib was flavorless and dry, lacking that fresh cooked wet juiciness. Plus it was served at a lukewarm temperature. Aw shucks. The salad on the other hand was delicious. Surprisingly it had pumpkin seeds and raisins, nice twist. The blue cheese dressing was disappointing though. It was flavorless as well with a thin, runny consistency. So bizarre. Another odd thing was the temperature inside the restaurant. It was chilly. It didn’t seem to warm up.

Speaking about the building, it has quite the history. It was built in 1878 as a mercantile shop. The town’s main wharf and dock was located behind the mercantile. The dock is long gone. Throughout the years, the building served as a post office, Oddfellows Hall, community center … and now Peter’s Steakhouse. There is an info board on the dining room wall with old photos describing the building’s history. The last major remodel was in 2005. The dining room is a mix of Americana steakhouse with Chinese art work.

If I happen to be in the area, I might consider giving Peter’s another go.
