Love this place. Will be back! The ceviche and chips are amazing, paired with a michelada, tequila, and yummy tacos. Great staff and cozy seating. Outside patio and a fun atmosphere. Love the vibe and music.

I received a delivery order from Don Pez Fish Tacos and spent $50.76 on two tacos and an order of veggie nachos. The description of the veggies nachos is BEANS, cheese, guacamole, pico, crema and jalapeños (normal toppings). I received chips and cheese with large pieces of cauliflower all over it. The nachos had the smallest portion of guacamole on them and it was flavorless and unripe. I paid $19.50 for these nachos. The tacos were also very bland and the fish taco was mushy. I ordered flour tortillas for both tacos and only got one with a flour tortilla (corn for the other despite its description stating it comes with a flour tortilla by default).

I called the store and the woman seemed quite confused about the cauliflower then said that’s on their menu (it’s not). The woman kept referring to the cauliflower as cabbage and seemed annoyed/confused as to why I was so taken aback by cauliflower being all over nachos. Cauliflower is not a typical nacho topping nor is it a good one, and the woman continued to say that cabbage goes on their nachos then told me that there was nothing she could do as I ordered it through DoorDash (there isn’t a menu for this restaurant on their website). Despite having pictures of what I received and what this restaurant’s description of the nachos is, DoorDash also refused to provide me with a refund (unclear why).

Against my better judgement, I ordered from here after having a prior negative experience with this restaurant; I will not be eating here again. This was such a disappointing experience and to spend over $50 on it is so frustrating. Beware when ordering from here. It is completely overpriced and not at all worth the money.

This is one of my favorite taco places ever! The staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is was warm and people oriented. The food is beyond incredible and coconut shrimp tacos are my favorite. The drinks are high quality and not too sweet. Can’t wait to go back!

My family and I stopped in for some fish tacos, and we’re so glad we did! The tacos were hearty, packed with flavor, and absolutely delicious. We also tried the shrimp bowl — hands down our favorite part of the meal. To drink, we had the agua de jamaica and sandía, both incredibly refreshing and perfectly balanced, not overly sweet. The guacamole was smooth and creamy, paired with perfectly crispy chips that had just the right touch of salt and oil.

As amazing as the food was, the service was even better! Nadia, our server, was beyond pleasant and made us feel like family from the moment we walked in. Her warmth and attentiveness truly elevated our experience.

We’ll definitely be returning — highly recommend!

This place is awesome. Nadia is passionate about her craft and truly takes care of her guests! The tacos taste very fresh and pack a punch in flavor. Everything we got exceeded all expectations. Baja shrimp was better than signature fish IMO. Def recommend!

The best tacos I’ve had in Chicago! The chips + guac + salsa were also the best I’ve had. Super friendly staff, reasonably priced. All around great experience!

If you didn’t understand from the name, this place specializes in fish, but does have meat options too. My daughter had mahi tacos and my sister had the special and loved it! My husband had birria and the shell was made of burnt cheese so he’s still not sure how he felt about it but I had a bite and it was delish! Definitely a place to try new cuisine.

Really don’t understand the high reviews. We were in the area & excited to try these tacos because of the high rating. First red flag was our server didn’t take our order down. She forgot our coke which we had to get up & ask for.. gave us 2 forks when we were a party of three & again.. had to get up and ask for another.. I cannot eat tomato’s or anything spicy & I specifically asked for NO pico just add cilantro & onion… sure enough my tacos were loaded with tomato’s. I would’ve said something to our server if she came back to the table.. but I didn’t want to get up again to ask for something. The steak tacos were marinated good but no char.. was very fatty & just… tasted microwaved. The beans were lukewarm.. I just feel like for a highly rated restaurant.. it should’ve been better. 3 “dinners” with one coke & a side of rice and beans came out to $68.00… that’s ridiculously high for food that is lesser quality than cat food just beware. If you’re into non authentic tacos that were slapped together quickly.. this is your spot. But trust me plenty of better options in Chicago.. especially at a better price point.

I’m sure for residents of Old Town this is a great spot when you want tacos. For people traveling from different towns or states looking for an amazing Chicago food experience this is for sure not the place. Its super expensive and the food tastes like it was cooked in a microwave. We paid $73.00 for 6 tacos and one side order of rice and beans to share. The Rib Eye was horrible, looked like it never touched any sort of grilling device. I was nervous because our server didn’t write anything down, which is great if you can remember everything but that was not the case. We had to go to the bar to ask for silverware and our drink order. The veggie tacos we asked for no pico and spent the meal picking off the pico that it still came with. The rib eye we asked for sauces on the side and no sauces showed up. For the price point its just not worth it. I don’t like even writing reviews like this but with the cost of everything these days I wanted other people to know for tacos in Chicago there are way more affordable and tasty options. For people who can pay Old Town price points I’m sure you will enjoy the atmosphere and half way decent tacos.
