We 100% made the right choice and I cannot recommend 850 enough, nor can I say enough positive things about their event person, Dominika, and the whole staff, who are absolutely delightful. Everything – from the planning process to the dinner itself- was exceptionally seamless. The planning process was so simple and reasonable. Dominka is a rock star and a breeze to work and communicate with. She was insanely responsive – I never had to wait long for a response to any question I had, even if it was a question I had already asked ten times before. She toured the space with us and provided all the information we needed about pricing, menu options, etc in an easy to understand manner. We were planning this from out of town, so her flexibility in meeting us in the limited time we had in town was greatly appreciated.
As for the dinner itself, it exceeded all expectations. Dominka and staff made the space look very nice, which spared us from having to worry about decor. The staff were friendly and attentive on drink orders, and the food was incredible! Even having enjoyed 850 before, I was impressed at how well they delivered for such a large group. And the desserts were both beautiful and delicious.
In short, I still cannot believe how easy and wonderful our event with 850 was. A+++ to all involved.
Clubby atmosphere that is clean, comfortable and lively.
Excellent service.
Good choice of hard cider, very dry.
Gluten free options for pizza and pasta!
No beef except meatballs that are not gluten free …
The margarita, pizza and the cheese pizza were flat cardboard tasting not a woodfired pizza at all, which has a nice bubbly crust. This one was burnt and stale tasting. We will not be having this pizza again, especially since it cost $40 for these two little things. I know that places are expensive but at least give me something to eat. Sorry, 850 but not worth it
My friend and I chose “NY style”. She had preference for crispiness. I’ve never had to pick up the salt at a pizza restaurant before. Neither pizza we ordered had any flavor whatsoever. We left all the crust behind. 2 personal-sized pizzas, 2 beers, 2 desserts, tip – $44 each.
Very kind server, spacious and comfortable table and the beer was super cold. Unfortunately, first and last time.
The pizza is offered in wood-fired, NY style or ultra-thin. This is great in concept but 850 falls flat in bringing these to life. The wood-fired and NY style are disappointingly virtually indistinguishable, with the same thickness, chew and crust and unfortunately not resembling either description. Both pizza crusts lacked any character, the sauce was bland and overall they were both very disappointing. I’ve actually had better frozen pizza than this. Neither pie resembles Neopolitan or NY style at all.
The service is just ok…our server missed an opportunity to serve another glass of wine for most of the meal, and this was during a very slow evening. Another person, presumably the manager also passed by several times and missed the opportunity. 850 could do themselves a favor by focusing more on their patrons.
The interior is comfortable and includes some very generous-sized booths, and the wine and beer selection is appropriate. Parking in back can be a bit challenging so plan a few extra minutes to get there.
Overall it’s one of many good choices in Ridgefield to eat at although it ironically fails to deliver on its main focus of pizza. If you are focused on authentic pizza there are many other places in the area focused on NY, Neopolitan and other types that are true to the style.
