The pide here is very tasty and definitely worth trying. If the prices were just a couple of dollars lower, I think it could attract even more customers. The staff are attentive and polite, and the place itself is clean with a nice outdoor seating area. When I visited, there was a small mistake on the bill, but the staff quickly corrected it and even offered tea as a kind gesture to make up for it, which I really appreciated. Overall, it was a positive experience, and yes, I would come back again to eat here.

I left a more detailed review on Yelp but as an overview, my family consists of allium-free vegetarians. That means we can order from the cheese pide section but opt out of the pickles on the side because they contain garlic. We eat pide every so often and recently moved to NJ, so we’re hunting for our new pide spot.

This place specializes in pide and lahmacun so it’s natural that their menu revolves around those.

We got the long mozzarella pide for my daughter and the round 2 egg cheese pide with tomatoes added in for the adults.

The long pide is the longest I’ve seen. The dough is stretched thin to the point it’s almost like a flatbread with crisp edges, some chew, and the layer of cheese is equally as thin so perfect ratio. It is quite good. My picky daughter loves it and we enjoyed it as well!

The round pide… it didn’t occur to me until it came out that the eggs are raw. We ended up breaking the eggs and spreading it everywhere and then cutting it up like a pizza. We (the adults) loved this one. The flavors worked well and the wet elements made it not dry. The dough on this was thicker than the other but perfectly so. As such, it was less crispy but had a very nice chew. My husband who usually says food is merely “okay” said this was his favorite and it was good. GOOD. That says a lot!

We also got ayran (salty yogurt drink) because it’s something we always order with pide. They don’t make their own here but the one they have is fine. My husband thinks it’s too smooth (what an odd comment) and prefers the house made version we’re used to.

Almost all of the Turkish restaurants in the area also serve şalgam (fermented radish juice) so I gave it a try. It is strong, earthy, and spicy (think pickle juice and V8), but is usually enjoyed alongside heavier meals, meat, and fish. I absolutely love this stuff. It cut through the heavy qualities of delicious cheese bread and I actually ate more after I finished it. Definitely an acquired taste (only I was a fan). It does contain wheat (surprisingly), so don’t get it if you have an allergy.

Only one man was at the front and everyone else was in the kitchen so there might be a delay BUT we didn’t feel like it was a problem even though we were the only ones seated in the addition so a bit out of the way. The place was clean and service was good. Prices are very reasonable for the size and the pides are exceptional. I am glad this was our first exposure to Turkish food in NJ because it was a memorable one. I’m sure we’ll be back. (The only downside is the fact that it was a 50 minute drive to get there and the parking situation because it’s mostly street parking on a super busy street, but they do have 2 dedicated spots in front if you’re lucky enough to get one.)

Note: They don’t seem to have a gluten-free option so we brought pizza from home for my youngest child who is allergic to wheat and eggs (among other things). He was content, though he did ask if he could have the pide after he finished his food. I’m definitely on the lookout for a place that offers allergy-friendly pide dough, if that even exists!

The best pide I ate outside of Turkiye and one of the best pides I ate in my life. The service also was excellent, fast and warm. Thank you for everything. We’ll definitely be back.

Unlike the many reviews here that seem to be false, I went here with my Turkish friend based on his recommendation and shared a Pide which is very large!! What a great deal. It tasted better than my friend’s grandma’s Pide which i was blown away by. If you’re in the area looking for a place to eat but overwhelmed by all the options on Main Street, definitely give this place a try! Quick and straight to the point.

We had Turkish pide at Pide 28 and it was absolutely delicious! The food was fresh, flavorful, and very reasonably priced. The service was excellent. Our waiter Hamza was amazing, super friendly, and made the experience even better.

As a Houstonian, I really wish we had pide like this in Houston! Definitely a place I would come back to.

Houston’da da böyle pide olsa keşke!

Recently, we went to Pide 28. About 30 seconds after we sat down, the server asked whether we had decided what to order. He asked this without even giving us a menu. We told him that we wanted a few minutes to look at the menu. As soon as he heard that, he immediately frowned and walked away from the table. There was no “welcome,” no friendliness at all.
Throughout the service, even though we initially tried to be understanding and thought maybe he was just having a bad moment and might behave differently later, his attitude stayed the same for the entire meal. Despite us being extremely polite, he continued this behavior the whole time.
We have been to many restaurants, but this was honestly the rudest and most unfriendly server I have ever encountered in my life.
The pides were very good. We ordered two different kinds, and both were really delicious. We liked them a lot. However, we may not consider going back—solely because of the poor service and the server’s rude, unfriendly attitude. He didn’t say “enjoy your meal” even once. Whenever we asked for something, he responded as if we were insulting him.
His movements and behavior are completely inappropriate for the place he works at.

Must try Pides! There is something for everyone. Vegetarian, meat lovers, and more! The various types of pide are all unique and delicious. It is all homemade and authentic Karadenizli pide. You can watch it being made in store and wait time is not long at all, 5-10 min for homemade pide is amazing!

Upon a recommendation, I decided to visit this establishment, and it exceeded my expectations. The experience was so remarkable that I found myself returning for a second visit. Their pitas are exceptionally flavorful, prepared to perfection, and the staff consistently displays warm and professional hospitality. Additionally, the restaurant stands out for its excellent balance between quality and affordability, offering exceptional value for its price. Highly recommended for both first-time visitors and regular patrons alike.

I’ve been coming to Pide 28 for years now, and it’s hands down the best when it comes to pide and lahmacun. The quality is always top-notch, the flavors are authentic, and the service is consistently great. I’ve tried other spots, but nothing compares. This place never disappoints.
