Quaint hole in the wall… Old fashioned atmosphere. The staff is friendly and try to service fast. You can see what they are doing. The prices are fairly cheap. Food is definitely not disappointing. Maybe it was the hunger but the first bite out of my fried taco my eyes rolled back. The bathroom situation isn’t ideal as it’s outside around the corner and your knees are basically on the door when on the pot and I’m not sure how often they check it as when I lifted the lid there was a present still lingering inside … I flushed and wiped the seat..

I have been wanting to try a Mexican restaurant since I arrived to Burlington…… this is my first one I’ve been to. I gotta say the taco’s were really good. I got the beef fried soft shell tacos and I enjoyed them very much. Good taste and lettuce and tomatoes were also fresh. Sauce was good. I got them to go but sitting there waiting for my order I checked out the dining area which I thought was nice and I liked the pictures. I would definitely go back.

I’ve been going here since I was a kid. Now that I’ve moved out in the Pacific Northwest several years ago, I can say that the Casa Cup, Mexican Pizza, and their red and green sauce are still quite unique to Taco Casa. I try to make sure to stop by at least once any trip I come back.

This has been one of my favorites since I was a kid. Still one of my favorites today! Now they take debt cards.

This place is no at all what we had hoped or expected. Normally when you see a place called El Taco anything you think it will be authetic Mexican food and boy were we wrong. This was the worst “Mexican” place I’ve ever experienced. They heat up their food in the microwave and it’s just not great. They only have chicken and beef as meat choices too…thats where we should have walked out the door….10/10 do not recommend.

The locals love this place. My husband especially loves their tenderloin sandwiches, so it’s a staple when we visit Burlington.
The staff is great, it’s clean and can get crowded quickly.

The food at this place has really went downhill. It was the most disgusting food I have had ever from them. Not sure what is going on with this place? But it is horrible. The chips, that I got, we’re so salty. I couldn’t even eat them and it made the roof of my mouth so greasy? It’s disgusting The chimichanga that I got was like eating a rubber disk and the lettuce on top of it was brown. The fried soft shell tacos that my husband got he said they were so salty. He couldn’t eat them. I found a piece of hair in my food. Then I did call them with no answer.

Best taco place in Southeast Iowa. My wife and I love their chicken pita tacos. They are to die for. When the weather is nice you can eat outdoors and watch the goats in the back within the enclosed area. I had one goat give me a look like: “You’re going to eat that in front of me?” Yep. I’ll be back soon. Curious about their chimichangas as well. Will update when I get the chance to try them.

Best taco stand in Iowa. Every time I am around Burlington I stop in for some soft shells tacos Iowa style. My kids love the mini chicken tacos.

They call tostadas chalupas and are very rude when corrected. When I said something about it, they said “yeah we aren’t authentic. You will need to deal with it.” Clearly don’t care about incorrect names or customer service. Will definitely not go again. A taco salad is pictured in a shell on the wall but it is a few corn chips and a salad with a little taco meat. After topings, I spent over $10 for these two “chalupas”. Which are clearly not chalupas by any definition.
